POTTSVILLE, Pa. -- A Schuylkill County school show put on by kindergartners was stopped short on Wednesday, following an altercation in the audience, officials say. Now police say two Pottsville men are facing charges.
Parents took off from work and arrived Wednesday morning to watch their kindergarten students' end-of-the-year concert at John S. Clarke Elementary Center.
"It's what every parent dreams to go and check out, see their cuteness. It was awesome," said Jay Rose, a parent of one of the kindergarteners performing that day.
While the students took center stage during the school day, it was a handful of parents who ended up stealing the show.
Some spectators inside the Pottsville elementary school found themselves in the middle of a melee.
"It was sheer chaos," Danielle Sclafane said. "And I was like, what is going on?"
Sclafane, a Pottsville parent and aunt of one of the kindergarteners, says she was standing right by a mom who got out of her seat to film the kids, when a man asked her to move.
"He came up and he tapped her on the shoulder aggressively and was like, 'move out of my way' very aggressively," she said. "When the song was over, her child exited the stage along with the other children. And she walked behind me, got in the guy's face and used profanity and was like, 'you don't need to effing talk to me like that.'"
Several parents say it was a scary scene. Sclafane says she watched as punches were thrown.
"When I turned around, they were, like, all on top of each other," she said. "It was just big mauling almost. The principal was on the table, and it was sheer chaos."
Kindergartner Madden Rose says she had all the moves for her concert down pat.

Karoline Leavitt’s husband is over sixty and they have an infant and a toddler.
There is a man in my family who is around that age and is planning to have a baby.
I was at a local city council meeting regarding the airport and possible changes. A young 20 something kid was trying to share his opinion on the situation and every other word he said was “like”.
I raised my hand and said, “can you say that again without saying the like?”
He almost fell in the floor!!
