“I’ve seen no reports that the driver was an illegal alien. I believe he was either a naturalized citizen or a green card holder.”
“I believe...”
Based on this piece, there is not a hint of what you believe to be the case. You may be one of the many people on this site that pull stuff from their ass and believe it.
“NTSB board member Tom Chapman revealed few new details but said the bus was moving at a high rate of speed. It seems fairly clear that if there was any braking there wasn’t much, because of the speed and severity of the collision,”
That would suggest that something was amiss with this driver.
That's really interesting. I guess "pulling stuff from my ass" includes posting information from articles like this one that have been posted RIGHT HERE ON THIS WEBSITE:
Fatal bus crash driver didn't speak English, New York State gave him commercial license
The key quote comes from the first line:
On social media Friday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy identified the driver as 48-year-old Jing Dong, a naturalized U.S. citizen from China who received his CDL from New York State.
Tell me ... Is Sean Duffy pulling stuff from his ass, too?
It turns out I was remembering the information from a similar article posted late last night here on FR:
Yes. Based on my years of experience working with crash records from state highway departments, I'd say the most likely explanation about what was "amiss with this driver" was that he fell asleep behind the wheel.
