A federal judge appointed by Barack Obama has banned Donald Trump from adding his name to the Kennedy Center.
US District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled Friday that the President-appointed Kennedy Center Board's decision to include his name on the performing arts venue was unlawful.
Trump was sued by Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty, who has standing in the case because she serves as an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees as a member of Congress.
'The Kennedy Center's organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board's unilateral say-so,' Cooper wrote.
'Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,' he added.
Cooper also ruled that Trump could not close the center for two years for renovations.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump savaged the ruling and said he would work with Congress to transfer the Kennedy Center from the Department of Commerce back to Capitol Hill 'giving them the responsibility for its Operation, Maintenance, and Management.'
'Judge Cooper should be ashamed of himself!' the President said.

I think Trump should have built his own center not put his name on a preexisting one. He should build one that was bigger anyway and had his name lit up and could be seen from the Space Station.

Funny that many of these “stinging blows” get reversed on appeal.
Trump has a pattern of starting small tempests. In chasing those red herrings liberals get overwhelmed and the important actions quietly progress in the background.

The statute is nowhere near as clear as the judge makes it sound, which is probably why uses “organic” in his reasoning. This weasel word lets him play Queen of Hearts and force his preferred interpretation into effect.

Well, I think that a Judge needs to rule Congress needs negotiate the Iran War deal. Of course that means the war would never end. The Iranians will be dragged trough a very long process and the Libs will get the blame for not ending the War..😂😂😂😂

I think he is not appealing. This is Trumps off-ramp. He wants to turn over to Congress.
