As of late May 2026, Pres Trump was effectuating a, “largely negotiated”
agreement with Iran that he characterizes as a “total and complete victory”.

This follows a ceasefire in a conflict that began Feb 2026.
<><>The deal aims to reopen the Strait of Hormuz,
<><>with Iran claiming it retains “supervisory management” of the key waterway.

Based on events as of May 29, 2026 Negotiations Are Ongoing:

President Trump announced a deal was “largely negotiated,” but it faced delays and skepticism over Iran’s compliance regarding nuclear issues and control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Differing Perspectives: While Trump called the emerging deal a “total and complete victory”, Iranian media reported that Tehran continued to manage the Strait of Hormuz and did not immediately accept Trump’s key nuclear demands.

Ceasefire Status: A ceasefire brokered by Pakistan in April 2026 was reported to be on “massive life support” in early May following rejected proposals, though negotiations continued toward late May.

Trump stated the deal would ensure the opening of the strait, but Iran’s state media reported it would remain under their management and that they would manage traffic.

Upshot: Situation remains fluid with both sides asserting their own narrative
of victory........ and maintaining different interpretations of the deal’s terms.

They are being squeezed like a python. Without our troops being killed. I believe the IRGC will fall and Iran will be an ally again some day. I also believe the lying Media will continue to lie. I wonder how many receive funds from our enemies?

In the meantime, the IRGC is not able to pay its surrogates and mercenaries, let alone their own soldiers and sailors. So how long do you think they will fight? Religious fanatics do not respond like normal people do, but there bellies do.

As long as Iran retains the ability to militarily control traffic thru the Strait, we haven’t really won anything.

Iran is playing the same game of delay, delay, delay.

Trump is playing a different game, of economic squeeze, squeeze, and squeeze longer.

The longer the Iranian delay, the more unstable they will become, and more likely that the people making money will want change.

Trump believes that time is on his side, the Iranians feel it’s on their side.

You are grossly ignorant

One can’t get out of a place they are not in

And do you have a plan based in reality to cause that to change?

Why do you believe that?

Only in American could a headline ask that, after the Americans have basically free run of the entire country.

What all these democrat fools cannot understand or refuse to notice is that the Iranian leaders are weaponizing Western values against the United States. They figure they can populate bridges, etc., with children to protect from attacks. The Iranian leaders themselves have no compunction against killing children. They fully understand that the United States can literally bomb the entire nation back into the stone age but they know that the compassionate tendencies of the Americans will not allow them to do so.

So, the democrats are accusing Trump of unconditional surrender after he has destroyed the Iranian military. And the media will pretend that what the democrats say is true.

I think you’re right.

A wild card here is the American people. They can be determined and patient when the threat is obvious (like after Pearl Harbor or 9/11). But most Americans don’t see that kind of threat with Iran.

They do see gas prices bouncing around. If this thing isn’t wrapped up soon, will voters punish the GOP in the November elections?

Nazi Germany fought to the very end despite the economy being destroyed, cities bombed out and hundreds of thousands of civilians killed.
