A North Carolina woman allegedly shot two lawyers handling a civil lawsuit she filed against police as they were leaving the courthouse.
Gwendolyn White, 57, is charged with two counts of attempted murder after she allegedly shot two attorneys on Friday who were representing the Rolesville Police Department in a civil suit she filed, the News & Observer reports.
The victims, Mary Harris and Jeffrey Whitley, were leaving the Wake County Courthouse when White allegedly shot them in an alleyway.

Most courthouses are gun free zones. Only the judges (and cops) can carry there. Lawyers have to leave their guns in the car.

I guess she read the room and her case was not going well. Apparently she is one of the perpetual aggrieved crowd and she was upset the city chose to go to court rather than the usual fold. Give her the max consecutive sentences.

White has been lawsuit happy:
“Still, she has filed so many complaints that Judge Margaret Eagles entered a gatekeeper order against her in December 2023.
It bars White from filing any more civil or criminal complaints in Wake County unless an attorney signs off or she agrees to pay a $500 bond guaranteeing she has the funds to cover the defendants’ court costs if she loses.”
She was suing the police. The two white attorneys were defending the police so they were standing between her and the money she thought she was entitled to.
I’ve tried to greatly reduce my watching news but on the 5 minutes of Trey Gowdy’s show last night he made an impassioned defense of lawyers in general. Said to counter TV image by visiting a local courtroom to watch some.
