To: Red Badger
I tried (unsuccessfully) to find where this saying even came from.

I was told when I graduated in 1976 as a Nuclear Engineer, that I had wasted my time studying fission reactors as "Fusion power" was no more than 25 years away. This was when the Russians were planning (not building) a tokamak test bed. Now retired 50 years later, I guess we've made progress as now viable "Fusion Power" is only 10 years away.

I am confident that there will be a working commercially available fusion reactor fairly soon. But it won’t be a gigantic multibillion dollar edifice. It will be small and compact................
