Here in NYS...it means kids will be going to school in the dark.

I grew up in Connecticut. Under Nixon, DST was year round one year to save fuel. The public schools pushed the schedule half an hour ahead, with the elementary school starting at 9:30 AM and ending at 3:30PM. Better to change school and work schedules than to employ the fiction of changing the clock.
