Who is Palmer Luckey?

Palmer Luckey is an American entrepreneur and inventor best known as the founder of Oculus VR and the designer of the Oculus Rift, the virtual reality headset that revitalized the modern VR industry. Born in 1992 in Long Beach, California, he began building VR prototypes as a teenager and launched Oculus in 2012, which was subsequently acquired by Facebook (now Meta) in 2014 for $2 billion.

After leaving Meta in 2017, Luckey founded Anduril Industries, a defense technology company focused on developing autonomous drones, sensors, and AI-powered systems for military applications. As of early 2026, his net worth is estimated by Forbes to be approximately $3.5 billion, reflecting the significant valuation of Anduril, which has become a key partner in modernizing U.S. military capabilities. He is married to Nicole Edelmann, and they have one child together.

What is the video about?

The video is about picking the brain of Palmer Luckey, which touches various topics including China, his company, Anduril Industries, how he envisions an autonomus military to be configuried. How to stop China from stealing America's intellectual property.

He is really quite an interesting person, and extremly intelligent. Became a billionaire at 21. He was home-schooled by his mother, and his father is a car saleman, or was, so he comes from a middle class family livingfg in Long Island.

If you have never heard of him, I highly recommend that you give him a listrten, because this guy will become a household name.

The runtime of the video is 58 minutes, and it passes rather quickly.

Uh, Long Beach, not Long Island.

Other end of the country.

Yeah, you are correct. Sorry, my neighborhood. Lived in Newport Beach for awhile, found California isn’t really for me. Left, and never even think about visiting anymore.

That's the old endeavor, he is now building weapons suystems to get this nation into the new age of war,and at a far less espensive outlay as well.

BTW, I too have never had had any dealings with VR, and never cared to either. Guess I am too old for that kind of nonsense, as I see that industry as being.

I’ve watched his discussion with Mike Rowe on Rowe’s podcast & was impressed with his vision for improving US defense capabilities with technology. I may take a moment to see if he covers any new subjects on this video.

I've watched them too. He always reveal's little tidbits. In this one Peter Robisnon asked him how to stop China from stealing Ameerica's inte;lligent property. Plamer quickly answered, stop dpoing patents, because they patents provide a guide book for China to build our weapons.

He also expalins why China will never become innovative, and will rely upon our work for China to advance.
