Describing the city as a 'very homogenous place by national standards', Howison noted that New Ulm trails behind state and national averages for its diversity.
'They’re somewhat out of step with the larger demographic trends,' Howison said.

You don’t want to be there at night, whether you are white or not.
I knew a guy about 20 years ago got shot in his Crime Hills front yard in broad daylight. Cops show up, look to see who has recently gotten out of jail and drive a few blocks to pick up the perp who said in court it was a case of mistaken identity. He meant to shoot someone else. He got two years in prison, then robbed a bank as soon as he was free. He only got 2 years for that too.

As my post pointed out it was JFK, people mistake the date “1965” as where the legislation came from and why.
JFK ran on it in his 1960 platform and it was his political dream fulfilled.

The town to my south in NH has a big July 4th parade. Typically people put out chairs the day prior to reserve their spot. Especially in the shade of certain trees along the route.
It has become a running joke recently because chairs have been going out earlier than the day prior. If it is going to be 95 sunny and humid, shade is a valuable commodity.
This year is 250 years and all the people running for political offices will be marching in the parade.
I have shaken hands with many POTUS candidates over the years. Especially the Julys prior to the NH Primary.

They say “diversity” as if that’s a critical goal.
Why? Diversity is a long-sought critical point for their agenda - primarily because it is the opposite of the American ideal of a "melting pot" that many us of learned in elementary school.
Diversity in their hands amounts to the intentional diluting of Americans in the population so as to facilitate the "remaking" urged by Obama the Socialist and accelerated by Biden's open borders.

I believe it! I am from Southern California originally and I actually lived pretty close to Compton

Good point contrasting "diversity" with the "melting pot" metaphor. Diversity, as used by the left, is actually balkanization in practice, intended to destroy this nation.

I used to live in a picture perfect mostly German city when I was a kid. Now it is basically Mexico and the Aztec empire. It's hard to believe that decades ago, white English speakers were a majority in many cities in Texas and the southwest generally, including San Antonio etc. Now they're basically part of Mexico/Central America demographically and culturally.
To: ek_hornbeck
exactly. The Aztecs, not long ago, were cutting people’s hearts out so that the sun would go up and down. and now we’ve been flooded with millions upon millions on millions of them.
To: MarlonRando
Quite appropriate, since members of the Barrio Azteca gang would mutilate the bodies (including cutting out hearts and other internal organs) of their victims.

Whitney never attacked the music industry.

She did ALL the crack. At her autopsy, 83% of her mass was crack.

Yes, I remember it well. My Uncle Cliff (RIP) hadn’t been to Detroit in 50 years. When I drove him around to places he remembered as a young man he was stunned. The tour around the city brought tears to his eyes. Sad.

Growing up, I lived in Washington, D.C. As a young teenager, I would sometimes walk about three blocks to the National Zoo.
My parents paid $20K for their home and lived there for 20 years. After the 1968 riots they were happy to sell their home for what they paid for it, $20K. That home would cost more than $1M today.
My wife and I bought our first home in Ferguson, MO. It was nice when we lived there in the early 80s.
The press and other Democrats have incited and condoned the rioting that has ruined so many communities.

Detroit at one time had some of the best architecture in the world.
To their credit, even though the buildings were in a bad state, they didn’t tear them down, and now they are starting to refurbish them.

I have an uncle and cousins in New Ulm. It’s a small town built around a conservative Lutheran seminary. So neither the demographics nor the lack of crime should surprise anyone who is reasonable. And you will probably never hear a racist word from anyone living there no matter how much time you spent trying to find such a thing.
