Ahead of the Eid al-Adha festival, two albino buffaloes in Bangladesh that vaguely resemble two key world leaders, have become famous on social media.
According to a report by The Independent, a 700kg pink-skinned buffalo, named after Donald Trump due to its striking resemblance to the US president, in particular has been drawing large crowds to a farm in Narayanganj near the capital Dhaka.
“When I saw his pictures on Facebook, he looked exactly like Donald Trump," Prothom Alo newspaper quoted a visitor. “His facial structure and even hairstyle match that of Trump."
“The buffalo is very calm and polite in nature," she quipped, “which definitely does not match with Donald Trump."
Business Standard quoted Ziauddin Mridha, the owner, saying that there have been dozens of visitors coming to his farm every day to take photos of the animal, who was bought from a cattle market about 10 months ago.
“My younger brother jokingly named it Donald Trump after seeing the hair on its head. It is very calm in nature. Albino buffaloes are generally peaceful and do not become aggressive unless provoked," he said.
According to The Independent, the buffalo has been sold at the rate of Tk550 (£3.31) per kg and will be delivered to its new owner before Eid.
There is another albino buffalo that has been named after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Narayanganj.
The Independent cited reports that the buffalo, weighing at over 750kg, displays a “combative" attitude and the animal’s hair and eyes bear a resemblance to Netanyahu’s.
The media outlet quoted a manager at the SS Cattle Farm saying that “Netanyahu is very naughty and has a devious intelligence. Even when we go to feed it, it snorts and tries to gore us."

Eid post a picture of the Netanyahu buffalo, but I don't have one.
That’s pretty funny.
I grew up on a 40-acre hobby farm. My dad used to name all of our beef cattle after people and friends that they reminded him of. One time one of my dad’s friend’s, Herbie came over for dinner, and my dad had to ask us not to call the burgers we were eating “Herbie burgers”. We always knew the name of who we were eating when we were growing up.
My younger daughter said she didn’t want to know it’s name she just wanted to know what kind of meat it was.
The article doesn’t mention it but it’s probably safe to assume the buffalo will be slaughtered during the Eid festival. Ritual slaughter of livestock is apparently one of the festivities.
That’s kind of the impression I was getting.
Really sad. Beautiful buffalo would be better given as a gift to Trump for a local zoo in DC or Palm Beach.
looks fake.
