‘I’m afraid he won’t make it’: How Thomas Massie is handling the toughest election of his career
CNN ^ | May 14, 2026 | Jeff Zeleny

Posted on 05/17/2026 7:56:56 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Joni Pugh feels like she’s stuck in the middle of a bitter family feud between her president and her congressman. As a loyal Republican, she likes them both – and that is where her predicament begins...

“I’m not putting Trump down at all because I’m very much a fan of his, but I’m still going to vote for Thomas. He’s a great guy and is very careful about how he wants our taxpayer money to be spent.”

Massie has fought the establishment of both parties since first winning his seat 14 years ago in the tea party era as a fierce deficit hawk...
Massie also helped lead the charge to direct the Justice Department to release its investigative files into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein...
He’s also been among the loudest Republican critics of the Iran war, which he said has made him a target for strong supporters of Israel...

In one of his closing ads, Massie reminds voters that he has often stood with Trump...

“I agree with President Trump a whole lot more than I disagree with him. The list is long: the SAVE America Act to require proof of citizenship to vote, stopping immigrant welfare, fighting the woke agenda, defending the Second Amendment, protecting the life of the unborn, securing the border.”...

Massie faces Ed Gallrein, a farmer and former Navy SEAL whom Trump and his allies recruited into the race... Gallrein said as he announced his candidacy..."The president doesn’t need obstacles in Congress — he needs backup.” ...

“You can’t escape it. It’s everywhere,” Pugh said of the advertising deluge. “...I’m afraid he won’t make it this time. I don’t think he’s ever gone through anything like this.”

This is for the House, not Senate.

Like me, Massie is more Trump than Trump and more MAGA than MAGA...

Massie became a “RINO” the moment the Republican Party made the decision to remove two former principles from its national platform: fiscal responsibility and repealing ObamaCare.

Speaking for myself, I don't think of Massie so much as a RINO. I think the term "poser" is a better description.

The OBBB is a case it point.

Given the number of RINO's and Democrats in the House, big Spending cuts weren't possible.

So the OBBB gave us small spending cuts, border and immigration funding, defense and enforcement spending and 2017 tax cut extensions.

Massie could have voted for that bill and he could have worked to priamry RINOs in other various House primaries. But Massie voted no on the OBBB and he has never to my knowledge worked to criticize and primary RINOs in the House.

Thomas Massie has always been a self-aggrandizing clown. He made a career out of voting against bills that passed by 425-5 margins.

He only has influence now because the Republican Party pissed away its hold on so many swing seats in the House since 2016 that it can’t maintain a wide margin in Congress.

Massie could have opposed Trump behind closed doors, without being an attention whore about it.

This is such a load of garbage. Massie has done nothing for America. He is totally self interested, a liar, an obstructionist & grandstander beloved by the left. These people are trying to play Americans for fools.
From the Twitterverse:
Ro Khanna said Trump should be removed via the 25th Amendment, called him a “sleazebag,” reckless, and immoral…
Now he’s out here defending and supporting Thomas Massie.
Anything else y’all need to know, Kentucky?

Despite her big talk, Boebert is still choosing to appear in Kentucky with Massie, an individual who has been accused by Cynthia West @Cyntaxed007 of dating her, helping her obtain a congressional job, and then being the force behind her firing by @RepSpartz when Cynthia no longer wanted to date or have sex with Massie. Massie has been accused of the exact same behavior Boebert claims to be fighting against.vehemently opposing President Trump’s strikes on Iran

Sen. John Fetterman FIRES BACK at Rep. Thomas Massie
“That’s BIZARRE. I’d like to remind my colleague over in the House that Iran massacred 30,000 of their own people!”

Thomas Massie publicly thanked @RealCandaceO for her endorsement. The woman who spends her days harassing the widow of your boss who was shot in the throat in 4k by a Troon lover.

Thomas Massie: “We found six men whose names have been redacted who are implicated in the way the files are presented.” Four of them were totally random people selected years ago for an FBI lineup with no connection to Epstein’s crimes.
Code pink endorsed Thomas Massie

Lauren Boebert thought she’d be speaking to a huge crowd of Massie supporters at a Massie rally in Kentucky. She brought her cowgirl costume and everything with her 🤷🏼‍♀️

Little did she know that the huge crowd would turn out to be roughly 20 people!

Yeah yeah, they said that about Liz Cheney too.

Guess what, they always hated her too, she was just a useful idiot for them.

And now where is she?

I have no problem with Massie's fiscal responsibility.
Swallowing the Democrat kool-aid and voting to impeach is where Massie crossed the line. He's a fiscal Democrat disguised as a Republican because he's in a Red state.

Massie and Beshear are one and the same. Kentuckians need to boot both to the curb!

Yeah because 47 years of Iran waging its one sided war against The Great Satan has escaped your notice. Or maybe you think that the way Obama dealt with Iran is more to your liking.

” Ed Gallrein, a farmer and former Navy SEAL whom Trump and his allies recruited into the race... Gallrein said as he announced his candidacy...”The president doesn’t need obstacles in Congress — he needs backup.” ...”

Sycophant and a coward. He has refused every debate opportunity. Also, he forgets to mention he became a democrat in protest of Trump during his first term. So he sold out THAT position for a boatload or AIPAC/Adelson/Ellison money.

Because AIPAC/Ellison/Miriam Adelson flooded his opponent with money. And Massie lead the charge to expose Trump’s coverup of the Epstein/Israeli spy ring. Massie worked to oppose Trump’s build up to war with Iran last summer.

That’s is why Trump targeted him. That’s why if they take him down, repubs will go more Israel.

“Massie is not a team player and needs to go”

Representatives are supposed to represent their districts, not swear fealty to the party fuhrer.
Trump is the one who’s not a team player and broke faith with MAGA.

If representatives are supposed to just follow orders from above, we would have a Parliament, like they do in England.

Remind us what role Israel played in Khobar Towers, the USS Cole bombing, IEDs in Iraq, and the 1979 embassy kidnapping that kicked off Iran’s era of waging war on America. Not to forget their various proxies like the Houthis.

I’m wondering if you were born after 1979 since a lot of those who think that Trump is Israel’s puppet turn out to be young & dumb.

if the Dem message is more taxes, less liberties, more homelessness, and endangering America with open borders allowing terrorist murder gangsters and their enablers from all the Krapistans on earth... and drug pusher gangsters from Mexico.... into our communities, they kill Americans...and if the Dem message is to kill or enable the enemies of America to backstab and kill our allies including Israel, UAE, etcetera, or if the Dem message is more and more institutionalized official racism, anti-Christian and anti-Jewish discriminations across the boards in employment, college admissions, promotions, college financial aid, and all the rest.....................they will lose every election no matter how high they raise taxes on the productive “working class”

Sure you can. Bibi has the Epstein blackmail in spades, Miriam Adelson dumped 250 million into his campaign. NetanYAHOO visited Trump almost monthly and flattered him.

Israel also buys off a majority of Congress and they pressured Trump to do it.

If anything, Trump is the UAE’s puppet. Yes it’s also good for Israel, since the UAE wants to co-exist with Israel.
