Mom slams 82-year-old congresswoman's 'hostile' response to her son's letter, which told 4th grader to learn what 'propaganda' means

A North Carolina mom shared a “horrific letter” that she says North Carolina Rep. Virginia Foxx wrote in response to her 10-year-old son’s homework assignment.

The fourth grader wrote a “persuasive essay” for class on the benefits of electric cars, making the case that the government should consider tax rebates for people who buy new electric cars, his mother Emily Mango explained on Instagram on Saturday, May 9.

He then decided to mail the essay to Foxx, 82, in a school envelope that indicated his grade, Mango said, noting it was “clearly” written by a child.

Mango said the lengthy response her son got back from Foxx, dated May 1, had a “disrespectful, hostile, and unkind tone."

In Foxx's email to Mango's son, she thanked the boy for his letter and said that while she appreciated him "taking the time to share your thoughts,” she disagreed with his proposal.

“What many folks do not realize is that the money that ‘comes from’ the federal government actually comes from ordinary citizens who pay taxes to support that government,” Foxx wrote. “Therefore, your request that ‘the federal government should give a $5,000 tax rebate for all new electric car purchases’ means that the federal government must take that money out of the pockets of hardworking people who may not have the means to buy an electric vehicle in the first place.”

She then cited six articles from the Wall Street Journal, Fox News, National Review and The Washington Times “about the disastrous record of polices enacted to address ‘climate change’ for your perusal.”

Two of the six articles about climate change that Foxx cited were editorials by the Journal’s editorial board, which reflect the political perspective of owner Rupert Murdoch, the billionaire conservative media mogul and ally of President Donald Trump.

The letter from the congresswoman seemed quite accurate and reasonable to me. Not impolite nor “hostile.” The propaganda in this case is the mainstream media article from People and MSN. They’re still trying to push the dying Global Warming hoax.

She just taught the kid what the idiot mom should have taught him. What does the fact that she is 82 have to do with anything?

“the government should consider tax rebates for people who buy new electric cars,”

As the popular expression goes, ‘Over my dead body.’ This is proof of indoctrination of children by libtards.

The student’s essay was not included but the whole response was, it was not an attack an any way it simply pointed out that there were other factors and that what the child suggested had to be paid for not by some magic stash of money but from money from taxpayers. I thought it was a nice reply.

How does a fourth grader come up with the The idea that the government should pay for a private purchase in the first place? You would think the child might be attending a government school funded by the pockets and the back breaking work of the common man digging ditches & handing over hard-earned tax dollars with a smile on their face. Was the name of the fourth grade school the Mamdami center for Learing?

Rep. Foxx, a thought.

Why don’t you send the young man a gift.

My suggestion...

I learn something new every day. Until reading this People Mag story, I thought Murdoch was Trump’s enemy.

And as an aside, it states the 4th grader mailed his letter to a State Rep. Why am I suspicious that it was the 4th graders WOKE MOTHER who did the mailing?????

The comments from the Karyns on Insta a are, using their word, “horrifying”. These morons are acting like the Rep told the kid to go shoot up a school. This is the kind of liberal trash who are fine with indoctrination and think teaching civics is somehow vile but teaching tranny love is normal. Garbage people.

"...Foxx was first elected in 2004. Last year, she announced she plans to seek reelection in 2026 with Trump’s endorsement as House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., attempts to preserve his majority."

Ah, so that's what this is really about.

And the beat goes on be good, bad or indifferent,

AI Overview
Scientific evidence overwhelmingly shows that global warming is real, accelerated by human activities, and not a hoax. Over 99% of climate scientists agree that burning fossil fuels is driving rapid climate change, with 2024 setting records for heat. Multiple independent studies confirm this unprecedented warming trend.
Key Evidence and Facts:
Rapid Warming: The 10 warmest years on record, starting from 1880, have all occurred since 2014, with 2024 being exceptionally hot.
Scientific Consensus: Over 99% of peer-reviewed climate scientists agree that human activity is the primary driver of current warming.
Human Fingerprint: Measurements show that increased greenhouse gases (like \text{CO}_2) from human activity are trapping more of the Sun’s energy.
Global Impact: Rising temperatures are correlated with rising sea levels, ocean heating, and widespread changes in ecosystems.
Why Misinformation Persists:
Financial Interests: Industries dependent on fossil fuels have often promoted misinformation to protect their economic interests, say Reddit users.
Misleading Claims: Claims that global warming is fake often rely on cherry-picked data, outdated studies, or misrepresented findings.
Natural Cycle Argument: While Earth’s climate has changed before, the current rate of warming is occurring in decades rather than thousands of years, which natural cycles cannot explain.
For reliable information, institutions like NASA, the UN, and academic research consistently provide evidence-based, peer-reviewed data.

It was probably the mom’s idea (about the tax rebate) and the child wrote it. That’s why mom is so upset. She didn’t like the response to her idea.

The mailing AND the writing! The poor WOKE mother isn’t too bright anyway or is that the error of the writer of the article? Congresswoman Foxx is not a State Rep...she’s a U. S. House Representative. Congresswoman Foxx is one of the smartest moves North Carolinians ever made in electing their representatives - smart enough to keep her in there for years.
