OLEDO, Ohio —
The Toledo Police Department is looking to have 30% of its force be women by 2030.
This is part of a national initiative called 30x30, which aims to change the underrepresentation of women in policing. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has also pledged to try and meet this goal.
Including the academy, 109 out of 624 sworn officers in the department are women, making up roughly 17% of the force. This is 3% above the national average, according to the 30x30 Initiative, but the department is looking to grow this number. This isn't just to meet a goal, but to make the department more well-rounded.
Sgt. Taylor Dungjen has been an officer with TPD for almost 10 years, after being a reporter.
"One day I was sitting at my desk at work and I said, you know what? I'm going to make more money as a cadet in the police academy, so let's see if I can do it, and here we are," Dungjen said. (snip)
More women on the force could also bring benefits for TPD.
"There are studies out there that show that women are better at de-escalating," Dungjen said. "Women are less likely to be involved in use-of-force incidents. They're less likely to make what would be called a discretionary arrest."
The 30x30 Initiative said studies also show women are named in fewer lawsuits, are perceived as being more honest and compassionate and see better outcomes for crime victims. (snip)
"I'm a firm believer that women can do anything," Dungjen said. "I think that women are stronger and braver and tougher than they give themselves credit for sometimes, and I think coming into a role like law enforcement can really show them what they're capable of."

Taylor Dungjen. I'm sure her intentions are good, but lotsa luck taking down - or worse yet, fighting off - a determined male criminal.

Importing Muslim criminals while replacing male cops with female cops, they are going in the wrong direction.
This needs to be called what it is. Sexism. Stupid ideas like this will get innocent people killed and maimed.

Police academies are being forced to lower the entrance requirements since many women recruits cannot perform the physical agility tests a police officer must have to do the job.
A significant portion of female officer turnover is being attributed to a “difficult workplace culture” rather than an inability to do the job.
What are they going to do, guard Tony Packo’s?

The law abiding citizen will praise more women on the police force. As sincere about women they will be, does not account for the criminal mind. The criminal will violently react to these women. For them, the only good woman is a dead woman. There will be no limit to what these scum will do.
This represents a pathetic sickness in our society.
The policewomen overpowered and killed by fugitives will be over represented in the statistics.
If the female works with a male cop, the male cop is going to have to do more physical work and get more injuries.
If I were a male cop and had to work with a female cop, I would get a job in a different PD...in a different city.
Good for the ladies, let them try in stop a 200 lb. angry man built like a bull. Cop will shoot and kill before they physically engage. Or, more likely , female will be overcome. May even die.
I’m sure her intentions are the purest self promotion and virtue signaling. People like this are trash. They work towards the destruction of meritocracy and rationality.

I am dead set against females serving in combat roles in the military, and that includes Naval combat vessels, but society has made the decision that women should be allowed to be police and firefighters and there isn't much that can be done about it.
The four female officers surround him, then about the 30 second mark, begin the process of moving in to restrain him. For two solid minutes, they simply grab at him and paw him, all of them, and he is swatting their hands away. It was right around that time that I thought "This is stupid. If this keeps on, he is simply at some point going to just run away and they won't be able to stop him."
Sure enough, at about the 2:30 mark he decides he has had enough of this ineffectual pawing at him, and he just turns and runs away.
There is a distinct difference in the way male police and female police handle this.
When the female cops put their hands on him, he just bats their hands away. In my experience when observing male police officers if they lay their hands on a suspect who swats their hand, they shift into all-business mode, directly and abruptly grab that suspect with no pussyfooting and subdue him immediately, taking him to the ground if they need to.
There are people who, when I make these observations, accuse me of being a misogynist, or worse. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is a statement of fact that average males are far stronger than females, even those who work out consistently, and are far more aggressive due to the infusion of naturally supplied steroid, in other words, testosterone. The truth is often uncomfortable for some people, but that is the truth.
It isn't like Hollywood where a 140 lb. female takes out a 190 lb. male, or the 120 lb. female throws an unconscious 200 lb. guy over her shoulder to carry him out of a burning compartment on a ship or a flaming building. In Hollywood it works and people buy it. In real life, it simply doesn't.
Don’t hire weak people to be cops. That makes it a “difficult workplace culture”.
Yeah, I quit the NFL, cause my 5’6” 125 lb body found the workplace culture difficult. All that hitting, cussing, and braggadocio was tooo much for me.
