WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — City officials have released body camera footage showing last year’s arrest of Victoria Lang from a McDonald’s in Wichita Falls, Texas. Former police officer Daniel Wilson has been indicted in connection with the case.
On August 26, 2025, former Wichita Falls Police officers Wilson and Douglas Gulley were called to the McDonald’s in response to a person refusing to leave the restroom.
At the scene, Wilson and Gulley found Victoria Lang, 21, in the bathroom. She refused to identify herself or provide identification to the officers.
The footage shows Wilson and Gulley carrying Lang out of the restroom and building, forcing her to the ground outside. While removing her bag from her, Wilson is seen forcefully putting his hand on Lang’s neck and pushing her down.
Lang tries to stand up, but Wilson pushes her back to the ground and commands her to stay down. Then, Wilson grabs her by the ankles and drags her into the parking lot to the squad car.
Gulley and Wilson then pick Lang up and put her into the back of the squad car on her stomach with her legs twisted into the figure-four hold position.
During this time, neither officer gives Lang verbal commands to move. Lang was not combative, not yelling or screaming, and not creating a scene, a report released earlier this month found.
The full 20-minute video of the arrest can be watched below:
Following her arrest, Lang had been charged with interfering with public duties and resisting arrest. Those charges have been dropped.
Did he ever make an album that wasn’t incredible? But that one had the added bonus of Lyle Mays, so there is that.
“lends credence to the reason why they had reasonable cause to stop her from going in there.”
Not strong enough. Whether there was a knife, a firearm, or just Kotex, the officers have to assume the worst (firearm) because if they don’t each and every time they will one day likely end up being shot or dead.
> He said when asking her for ID, which she had, that he can’t ban her without her name. <
Perhaps it depends on the state. But in at least some states, you cannot demand ID absent of a crime. And being given a trespass warning is not a crime. So the 4A applies.
It is, however, a crime to not leave (or come back) after being given that warning.
I mention this because sometimes cops get ID hungry. I get why - they’re looking for wanted people. But it can also needlessly escalate the situation.
The other’s first name was mentioned earlier in the article...............
Did he ever make an album that wasn’t incredible?
Zero Tolerance For Silence
Yeah, no one ever understands that one, including me.
But in the case of Pat Metheny, I assume that the fault lies with me, not him.
I really think there should be a mandatory 10 years in prison for any public servant who violates a Citizen’s rights as guaranteed under the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments to the Constitution. I really think there should be a mandatory 20 years in prison for any public servant who assaults or batters a Citizen while also violating said Citizen’s rights as guaranteed under the Constitution. Additional 5 to 10 years if the assault and battery results in an injury, death if the Citizen is killed.
Additionally, any civil judgments against public servants should be paid by the public servants themselves ... quit saddling We the People with the cost of miscreant servants over whom we have no control.
Public servants need to learn their place and mind their manners.
But in the case of Pat Metheny, I assume that the fault lies with me, not him.
I think it was his ‘Metal Machine Music’, basically fulfilling his contractual obligation.
Police were called by McDonald’s staff for a woman loitering in their bathroom.
Police arrived, and did what police do - ask for ID, checked her for weapons or other contraband. She didn’t cooperate, so they cuffed her and took her in. When she pushed back they restrained her.
In the car, her screams sounded like she was possessed by the devil - ie) to me it indicate she was mentally ill.
So now she probably gets a $200K settlement from the local government, which will be stolen by her lawyer and drug dealers.
Having watched EVERY episode of “COPS”, “Live PD”, and “On Patrol Live” I can attest that these cops did NOTHING WRONG!
Typical police procedures
And yes, Boo Boo, its THEM again!
Yep. Her attitude started the entire episode.
That sounds too much like the smug “you can beat the rap but you can’t beat the ride” BS that I’ve dealt with with multiple cops as a prosecutor and judge. More than a few LEOs see that as a license to be an a$$hole.
Escalation is controlled by the perp. Comply and no escalation (yes, a few exceptions for bad cops, not the case here).
She was passively resisting, but they didn't beat or tase her and just dragged or carried her as they could. The only questionable use of force is when she gets pushed around after they cut the bag off. But that's it.
I think a conviction is very dubious.
> Comply and no escalation. <
In general, I agree. But on the other hand, cops should not be issuing unlawful demands. We are not a ”papers, please” country.
I guess I’m arguing for some balance in such situations.
I was there in ‘81 for Air Force tech school.
“and just dragged or carried her as they could.”
Obviously violating policy and training.
How are the police supposed to fill out the trespass paperwork, if they do not ID her? They have two options, ask for an ID or have her give them her information.
So, even though, it may not be a crime, yes, she has to identify herself for the trespass paperwork. Refusing to provide ID when issued a trespass warning can lead to legal consequences, such as being charged with disorderly conduct or obstructing legal process.
I totally agree, No papers please.
However, this person was not questioning the detention, she was non-verbal and non-compliant from the start. At this stage she needs to be in custody if nothing more than for a mental-health check. While her body language was not that of someone becoming violent, in that moment the officer has no idea what she is going to do as evident of her trying to reach into her bag.
I am not a carte blanche person for police, but this is the kind of stuff they are presented with on a daily basis and are judged by arm-chair spectators, judges, and lawyers who have no clue what is going on in that moment.
There are stories every day where this kind of contact escalates from the subject becoming combative and producing a weapon. Just the other day an officer was shot by a hand-cuffed perp in the backseat of a cruiser because the officer was laxed in the pat-down which in some cases is probably caused by fear of being prosecuted, like in this type of case. Pretty hard to know what that person is planning.
Not to mention without ID you don’t know if you have a wanted serial killer or somebody’s grandma in front of you.
