Why do I think Mamdani will not last through his term?
He will. His opponents leave, the people who support him stay.
I guess the reason for thinking that way is that there no indication to think he should last through his term. He seems to be like a piece of spoiled food....who wants that?

Oh, he’ll last. Liberals are the last ones to call it a loss. Even if it is. But, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap” is a biblical proverb (Galatians 6:7) and is very telling here.
