So, who gets Montana?
RIP, CNN was much better in the days of Lynne Russell and others back in the day.
Widow Jane Fonda will be in a quandary on how to respond to President Trump’s kind and respectful reaction to Ted Turner’s death. How can she twist and distort what Trump just said so that it sounds like an insult or another ugly smear? What’s a perpetual whiner to do?
Never fear, Jane will think of something.
She will instruct one of her next few interviewers to ask her certain questions, worded in specific ways to elicit another ‘pained and indignant’ response from her.
“Ask me this question first, but do it in a manner as though you were very, very reluctant to ask it. I’ll do the rest!”
If I didn’t know better I’d say GP posted this as an excuse to drag up what President Trump said about Rob Reiner......but that couldn’t be.....could it? 🤔
Anybody that thinks Reiner wouldn’t have said something nasty about DJT had HE died is crazy.
>[Turner] was personally devastated by the Deal because the new ownership took CNN, his “baby,” and destroyed it.
I met Lynn Russell, Headline News anchor in the glory days of the 1990s, who helped build CNN, at a Veteran’s Day event during Covid. I think 2020, but might have been 2021.
To say she was horrified at what CNN had become is putting it mildly.
he had Lewy body dementia
I think robin williams had that too
Who knew his first name was Robert. Robert Edward Turner III
I first thought of Ted Turner’s quote from long ago when I saw that agent get out of the way to allow the armed would be assassin Cole Tomas Allen to rush past him on his mission.
“Lead. Follow. Or get out of the way.”
Note: I had just watched the 1939 movie The Tower of London. Boris Karloff as the henchman to the Basil Rathbone heir to the throne. Along torturing some people as part of his job he then watched as an enemy was held by officers down the hall, planning in advance to stop him if he somehow broke loose. He did break loose and as he ran down the hall Karloff put out his leg and tripped him. I thought that was what the agent should have done.
I watched coverage on Atlanta’s Ted Turner on Atlanta News First (Gray Media). I always find it interesting in these “obituary” news features how some controversial figures are portrayed.
Some obits are all glowing praise. Some are factual. Some avoid the controversial. Some belabor the controversial. Some are biased one way, or the other.
This one was all glowing praise or a fellow Atlantan media figure. But only a brief mention of wife Jane Fonda.
FWIW
Jane Fonda is 88 years old.
Ted’s Montana Grill was the single WORST dining experience of my life.
Sure he was a leftist, but his boys were eagle scoundrel and he let the Boy Scouts use land next to philmont for hiking, the trek we chose went through it it was called some like val vedel
No trails, no campsites, just bushwhacking
