License built Piper Cherokee Six of some sort. Good airplane until the engine doesn’t make full power.
Not criticizing the pilot because he had his hands full but, the old adage “fly the plane all the way to the scene of the crash” may apply here. Looks like he ran out of options and control of the plane at about the same time. The video showed no plausible place to crash.
Looks like he had no rudder control, going in a circle, lower and lower.................
I have flown on a Cherokee Six before & it seemed a reliable plane. We didn’t crash, so I guess that would be a natural assumption. Had a good pilot who seemed to be able to handle normal emergencies & he briefed us on board in case one arose, even tho none of us others were pilots.
