Last year I left half a stick of Kerry Gold out in a covered butter dish. Some little scout ant found it and before long I had the entire colony in it.
I removed it into the trash and let Terro handle the rest.
Ants like real butter.

"...Ants like real butter..." Heh, so do cats, apparently. I heard my wife from the kitchen saying "Give it up! Give it up! Open your mouth!
Apparently she had cut a chunk of butter out of a frozen stick to let it warm up and the cat got a hold of it and ran off with it in her mouth, she had to chase it down!
