Trump appeared to hint at a potential military operation in Cuba after US forces “finish the job” in Iran. The comments come as Washington announced a set of new sanctions targeting the island nation on Friday, which Havana slammed as a form of collective punishment.

US President Donald Trump joked on Friday that his country’s Navy would take on Cuba on the way home from Iran.

His comments came as he addressed attendees of an event at the non-profit Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, where he was invited as a keynote speaker.

Really just taking a free jab at China and their ambitions there. Like ‘Gulf of America’ and so on.

The CCP is our enemy and they have their tools in place with Starmer and Carney and had intended to install that pedo pervert Walz. Now their just trying to lay low and wait out President Trump.

I believe the President means well for everyone, and in particular the people of the USA. I think he sees it in America’s best interest to shepherd the nations of the Western Hemisphere into a more peaceable and profitable manner of conducting themselves.

Cuba used to have a pretty powerful army and used it to spread communism in e.g. Angola and Ethiopia.

With the overall decay of Cuban economy, I am not sure how much is left.

The collapse of the Soviet Union put the nail in the coffin for Cuba.

I believe Cuba used to have the strongest economy in the Americas, outside the U.S.

I think Cuba was a hot spot for gambling vacations decades ago, maybe the roaring twenties. Like Vegas with an ocean breeze. Spent a week in Cuba a few decades ago. Went with three adventurous friends, as there was some government prohibition against it. Our government.

Cubans absolutely loved seeing “wealthy” Americans, and we hired a couple of young guys to show us arund the country. One had a car that still worked, miracle of miracles. We saw several OK resorts with people from Europe staying there, nice rooms, big swimming pools. Needed paint jobs.

The Trumps could get them remodeled and updated, and make a bloody fortune. I’d rather have a vacation at a spiffied up Cuban resort than one in Florida. Or SoCal—Cuba would be safer.

Give Las Vegas back to them, as well. Might be worth going back, then.

Oh, yest, before Castro.
Castro, like other communist dictators, neglected economy, but heavily invested in military.
So while economy was going down, military was building up, ostentatiously to prevent US invasion!
Cuban active-duty personnel numbers reached approximately 297,000 to 300,000 in 1980ties.
The Communist block heavily used Cuban military in their African and other endeavors.
Nowadays, Cuban army shrank substantially.

Cuba and Argentina both had phenomenal economies, until their governance shifted to the left.
