Drag legend John Force's eldest daughter, Adria Hight, 56, dies

Adria (Force) Hight, 56, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on June 4, 1969, in Huntington Park, California and grew up along the west coast in different beach cities. As a child she loved skating, swimming, playing restaurant and collecting matchbox cars. After graduating from Huntington Beach High School, she joined the family drag racing business working for her father John Force as one of the first employees of John Force Racing. Adria helped build the company from the ground up; everything from answering phones and selling t-shirts out of the race trailer, to eventually becoming CFO to one of the winningest teams in motorsports history.

She was the oldest sibling to Ashley, Brittany and Courtney who loved hanging out with their fun big sister. Their favorite memories were slumber parties at her condo with her puppy JoJo, trips to the roller rink, attending concerts and spending time at the recording studio. Adria always had a love for music. She sang and played tambourine in a band called Mad Man Billy. They recorded CD’s, played locally at car shows and restaurants and even performed on the sand at Pismo Beach! She also loved promoting rising artists through her company Civil Defense Music.

Adria loved being a mom to Autumn (with ex-husband Robert Hight). They traveled the country going to the NHRA drag races and cheering on their family teams. Later on, Autumn started racing junior dragsters, and Adria was her biggest fan. When they weren’t at the track, they loved planning girl's trips with Grandma Lana to Memphis, Vegas, Hawaii and Puerto Vallarta. Lana’s favorite memories include trips to the LA farmers market, the Country Music Awards and American Idol. Everywhere they went, they made friends instantly. Adria never knew a stranger.

Adria and fiancé Jimmy recently moved to Indiana with their pets (Charlotte, Ed and Lily) to be near Autumn. Adria enjoyed the slower pace out in the country and being grandma to dogs Indy and Bubba. But she was still always on the go, even buying a motorhome to travel to Autumn's Super Comp races. Their favorite racetracks were Norwalk, Bowling Green, and St Louis.

Adria was loyal, charismatic, spunky, wild, and cool, a best friend to everyone. She was always there when you needed her and never too busy for anyone. Known for her epic storybook-long text messages, she was always checking in, keeping in touch and sharing great stories with her loved ones. She had the sweetest heart, always wanting to help others and saw the world through rose colored glasses, reminding us to let the little things go and smile. She loved her friends, family and pets, and a good apple martini.

She is survived by her daughter Autumn Hight (Nathan Prose), mother Lana Starks, father John (Laurie Force), fiancé Jimmy Collins, siblings Ashley (Daniel Hood), Brittany (Bobby Lyons) and Courtney (Graham Rahal) and nephews and nieces who adored their silly aunt (Jacob, Noah, Brody, Harlan, Tinley and Fallon). Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. Adria was preceded in death by her grandparents Gracey and C.N. Boneé and Betty and Bill Force. In honoring Adria’s wishes, private services will be held. Her burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN. There will be a celebration of her life later in the year, in California.

Right. When I read the headline my first thought was that dad was a drag queen.

Given the headlines I expected a high speed crash

I used to go fast

I did 200 mph on the autobahn in an S4 RUF tuned long ago

Pretty fast

My 911 stock tuned would do 179 as advertised in rural mid tn at night with spotter

Rip to this lady!

No. It’s CH3NO2 and Methanol. NHRA fuel cars never use gasoline. EVER.
