Moulton: Hegseth ‘Guilty’ of War Crimes Like Nazi Submarine Captains
Breitbart ^

Posted on 04/30/2026 5:31:24 AM PDT by Tench_Coxe

Wednesday on CNN’s “OutFront,” Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) claimed that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had committed war crimes.

(snip)

He added, “And on top of that, we then have the strike where they came back in and hit it again, a double tap, just purely to kill these survivors who were clinging to wreckage. You know, it’s interesting, Erin, another historical analogy back in World War II, the Allies tried Nazi submarine captains for doing this exact same thing. And guess what the conclusion was? They got executed.”

Clearly, this guy didn't get the memo.

Americans can't commit war crimes.

Hegseth needs to sue the Iranian Regime loving, Massachusetts Nazi. I have some distant relatives in Massachusetts. I hope this bass turd isn’t one of them.

This is an arcane debate as the US will not admit defeat in any kind of internationally recognized treaty and be forced to give up American servicemen to an world tribunal. This debate is expanding the peculiar circumstance attending the end of WW2 into a more generalized wartime situation.

Boulton is a Marine combat veteran

Prior military service is a poor predictor of present political performance.

Wear a life jacket

Wearing a properly fitted life jacket (personal flotation device) could save your life. Most boating fatality victims were not wearing a life jacket.

In Massachusetts, life jackets must be worn by:
Canoeists and kayakers from September 15 – May 15 (including waterfowl hunters)
Youth under 12 years old
Personal watercraft users
Waterskiers

It is recommended that you wear a life jacket every time you are on the water. Accidents on the water often happen too quickly to reach and put on a stowed life jacket.

As of April 1st, 2026, a valid boater safety certificate will be required for the operation of motorboats and PWCs in Massachusetts.

Doenitz was tried at Nuremburg — he was Hitler’s designated successor — but were German U-boat captains convicted of war crimes? Oysterman Plattner has sea captains and Nazis on his mind.

Sorry, I thought this was about Plattner.
Moulson also comes from a seaside district.

One German U Boat captain was tried for war crimes and executed - by the Brits. One U Boat captain was shot trying to escape an American POW camp. That’s all I know of.

The U.S. Navy submarine force in WWII practiced “Unrestricted Warfare” in the Pacific. Which meant any and all Japanese vessels of any type, military or civilian, were legitimate targets.

By July 1945 the U.S. has pretty much blockaded Japan’s ports and sunk the majority of Japan’s commercial shipping. Japan was slowly being strangled into starvation.

If not for the A bombs it is estimated that millions of Japanese would have starved to death by Summer, 1946. I guess that would have been a war crime too, right Mister Moulton?

I thought the charges against him regarding U-boat activities were dropped when it was pointed out that we used the same actions against the Japanese.

Prior military service is a poor predictor of present political performance.

Ain’t that the truth . Have had some real clunkers here in VA.

Ron Villanueva :: Convicted of fraud , rigging defense contracts to help his fellow Filipinos rip off US taxpayers , way to go Ron !

Scott Taylor Voter fraud tied to campaign , thought they could pull off a “Operation chaos “ , several staffers charged. Resulted in the future J6’er Show Trial Democrat Elaine Luria to win seat.

Luria , fwiw, is running again against Rep Jen Kiggens , another useless “vet” who is “one of the most bipartisan members” as though that is a good thing. Essentially , she, Kiggens is a Deep Stater, anything the Swamp wants, she is for , Foreign aid, foreign wars, etc.

A German U-Boat torpedoed the Laconia. Once the German skipper saw civilians in the water he radioed his wolf pack to gather to save the survivors. Six U-Boats had civilians on their their decks and were towing life boats. The US send B-24s from the Azores, which bombed the U-Boats, civilians and all. This resulted in an order from Admiral Dönitz to never again pick up survivors.

This is true. Admiral Nimitz flew to Nuremberg himself at his own expense in order to testify on Dönitz's behalf.

How much meth and cocaine (street retail value) was blown by the two explosions? (We shall assume the high speed boat cost the drug cartels more money than they cared about the two smugglers. Heck, the gas was worth more than the two smugglers were worth.)

Oh. Obama dropped more than 103,000 different bombs and missiles in 8 years on Muslim dirt and rocks and cities.

Seth Moulton, D-MA, is lying, but I repeated... I don't want to know how many times.

Remember when repeating one's self twice was good enough to get the point across?

Moulton is repeating Iranian propaganda, already countered by the video the U.S. Navy release of the IRIS Dena having her stern blown off before Iran started making propaganda over the sinking. Watch the video of the sinking here.

The blast from the first torpedo churned up the water so much sonar guided torpedoes would have hard time identifying a target against the background of the first explosion. Explosions in water create a volume of gas and air bubbles that form effective shields against sonar until they dissipate. The Dena sunk in under three minutes, so there was no reason or likely even time to fire a second torpedo.

No WW-II U-boat or any submarine commander was ever court martialed or prosecuted by military or civilian courts for firing multiple torpedoes at a ship during war, ever. Accused of war crimes, yes. For actually sinking ships, no.

On January 26, 1943 the USS Wahoo fired on survivors after sinking the Buyo Maru, which turned out to have mostly Indian POWs. The crew thought the survivors were Japanese soldiers who would go on to fight Americans and our allies. This was a violation of the 1907 Hague accords, it was ignored. During WW-II the Pacific theater was especially brutal on all sides. Most of the Maru's crew and POWs survived, which showed the Wahoo wasn't out to kill everyone. The Wahoo was sunk and lost with all hands December 6, 1943 in the Sea of Japan, which made holding anyone accountable moot.

The case of Heinz-Wilhelm Eck in command of U-852 is different. After torpedoing the SS Peleus and interrogating two crewman, he spent five hours machine-gunning and throwing grenades into life rafts. He deliberately gave orders to kill civilian merchantmen who were stranded at sea. When U-852 was later disabled, he was caught, tried as a war criminal and died by firing squad.

Back to Moulton.

As a former army officer who served in Iraq, his four tours shows he knows how dirty our enemies fight. His words are also calling active service members currently in combat war criminals for carrying out lawful orders is all the worse for it.

Despicable is normal for Democrats. Except for Fetterman.
