Nation Longs For Good Old Days When Comedians Were Funny And Didn't Wish Death On People

U.S. — On the heels of yet another attempted act of political violence being used for laughs by late-night talk show hosts, Americans expressed a deep longing for the good old days when comedians were funny and didn't wish death on people.

President Donald Trump survived another attempt on his life over the weekend, with the would-be assassin being taken down by law enforcement. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel, meanwhile, gave a parody White House Correspondents' Dinner speech complimenting Melania Trump on having "the glow of an expectant widow," leaving viewers yearning for days gone by when comedians would make people laugh and not hope for other human beings to be murdered.

"Those were the days," said television viewer Jeff Stevenson. "I remember way back when comedians would say stuff that made everyone laugh, and there weren't any instances of them expressing sincere hopes that anyone would be gunned down. I guess being a comedian is a lost art these days. I don't recall Johnny Carson ever calling for anyone to be assassinated. He probably could've made it happen, too."

Others seconded the nostalgic remembrance of the former times, when late-night talk shows were enjoyable and didn't reek of reveling in murder and political violence. "We didn't know how good we had it," said disappointed citizen Jennifer Blake. "It sure would be nice to sit back and laugh at some jokes without someone wishing death on someone else. Sadly, those days are gone."

At publishing time, Jimmy Kimmel had invited the failed Trump assassin to appear on his talk show so they could have a good laugh about the near-killing of someone they don't like.

Its funny. We may look back and realize that the true “comedian” was a unique feature of the mid-20th Century. There were no comedians before that and these days, there really aren’t any funny comedians. Just political hacks playing for clapter by spewing the same old, tired, predictable liberal jokes.

Tucker says death to those who make fun of other religions

Does that include American Marxist Liberal Pervert Paganism?

This is what happens when you mix equal parts of political apparatchik, intellectual fool and delusional self-centeredness (narcissism). You get James Kimmel.

This is interesting...

Right Angle News Network
@Rightanglenews

Republicans are now boycotting Jimmy Kimmel’s sponsors in response to ABC refusing to take action against him after he wished for the death of President Trump.

Here’s the list if you want to help or tag a company and ask if they are comfortable with their brand being tied to violence.

Right Angle News, by focusing on the adverisers, you’re letting ABC’s owner off the hook, aren’t you?

Why is that?

Cuz it’s Disney...?

When hubby was out of town, I would stay up and watch Carson because I’d have a hard time getting to sleep.

After watching his show, I’d fall asleep with a smile on my face.

I stopped watching late night after Carson retired.

Now I watch Carson clips.

Decades later, viewed over and over, they still make me smile.

“Red Skelton ENDED every show with “May God Bless.”

That was a different time in this country. Back when believing in God was common.

And a heck of a lot better time IMO.

What parent hasn’t heard “I wish you were dead!” from their petulant overdramatic teen.....but no one ever claimed it was a joke and yes, the parents laughed out loud but nob9dy else did.

The joke writers ought be fired for incompetence and petulant immaturity, if for nothing else.
