A 2017 local TV news segment featuring a man identified as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting suspect has resurfaced online in the wake of the incident.
The clip, from ABC7 Los Angeles (KABC), shows a young Cole Allen — described as a Caltech student at the time — demonstrating a prototype wheelchair emergency brake at a tech conference focused on helping seniors.
“The wheelchair brakes tend to lock the wheels, but don’t lock the chair to the ground. But with this device, that will prevent the chair from skidding at all,” Allen said in the segment.
The report aired as part of coverage of the “Aging into the Future” conference in Los Angeles, where startups pitched innovations aimed at improving quality of life for older adults.
The video has begun circulating widely on social media following the shooting.

But you can be sure he will be found too incompetent to stand trial.
The FAILURE of Cole Tomas Allen serves to put further focus on the near success of Thomas Matthew Crooks.
It is early but it could be that Allen is the mythical lone wolf crazed assassin that is always given as red meat for the sheeple to consume.
The thirty-something certainly had the brains to carry out his mission as far as he did.
It also appears he likely had the financial means as well.
Thomas Matthew Crooks was no Cole Tomas Allen.
Crooks was a twenty year old dietary assistant at a nursing home.
Yet he would find himself on a roof with as PERFECT a kill shot as any assassin could ever ask for even if counter snipers had him scoped the whole time.
And he still got off eight shots.
It’s less than twenty four hours after the shooting and we know way more about this Allen fellow than we know about Thomas Matthew Crooks going on two years after he was “neutralized” on that roof.
Why is this so?
Could it be that when the shooter is REALLY a crazed lone wolf assassin there is no restrictions or blocks on the flow of information?
Actually, it looks like he was named Teacher of the Month by the test prep / tutoring company he worked for. In other words, one of those meaningless company awards of the sort you see on the wall at your local fast-food joint. Everyone who shows up for work as scheduled gets a turn.

They’ve showed this “invention” twice on Fox without an explanation. I didn’t know what it was all about. I thought it was an on-board, wheel chair, toilet system. I guess it was a wacky new wheel chair braking system. I guess one of those was really needed.
I’m sick and tired of the media “humanizing” those who commit violent crime.
If it wasn’t for the constant drumbeat by the press and the Lincoln project and other power hungry leftwingers, this guy may never have become radicalized and would have probably continued life as a nerdy guy trying to solve normal problems and actually benefiting people.
But instead, evil political agitators and satanic foes drowned out the voice of God “Thou shall not murder!” and replaced it with do what feels right.
