The only problem I see, if I was to go to that much effort, is that a dealer would be unlikely to accept it as “pure” and offer a decent price.

Perhaps find a refiner that will give you a good price for the 91% and let them perform the labor to get it to .999 fine. There is an investment in vent hoods, melt trays, torches, glassware and reagents needed to do the refining process. A calibrated scale is needed too. You need enough raw input to make the effort pay off for the necessary tooling.

I went that route and called some refiners. What I found was that they only deal with dealers, like coin shops. If I could find a refiner that was open to working with an individual, I would go that route.
