Yup. Joe Morello(the late) was my teacher. He was legally blind but man, could he play.
Brubeck’s drummer, the amazing Joe Morello was also my son’s drum teacher’s teacher. I didn’t know until recently that he also played with Gary Burton, another of my favorite jazz musicians. Incredible vibes with Morello on drums, going to have to check that out.
