Mauricio Jimenez, 48, of Hialeah, was arrested Tuesday on charges of grand theft over $100,000 and organized fraud of $50,000 or more, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
The manager of a Miami-Dade Home Depot store has been arrested in a years-long fraud scheme involving merchandise markdowns that cost the home improvement company millions, authorities said.
Mauricio Jimenez, 48, of Hialeah, was arrested Tuesday on charges of grand theft over $100,000 and organized fraud of $50,000 or more, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
According to an arrest report, Jimenez was the manager of the Home Depot at 7899 West Flagler Street and had previously worked at the store at 13895 West Okeechobee Road.
Because of his position, Jimenez had the authority to approve price adjustments including markdowns and had access to internal sales and inventory systems.
The investigation began after Home Depot's Assurance & Advisory Management Program members discovered a high markdown order staged at Jimenez's previous store.
Home Depot observed multiple similar transactions with Jimenez involving "highly excessive" markdowns for repeat customers, the report said.
The transactions involved unusually large markdowns applied to merchandise sold in bulk quantities to certain businesses including items like power tools and in-sink garbage disposals, the report said.
The high markdown activity had ended at the previous store when Jimenez left and picked up when he started working at the West Flagler Street location, the report said.
Investigators uncovered that from December 2023 to April 2026, Jimenez was involved in no fewer than 4,500 separate orders involving unauthorized markdowns, the report said.
The transactions were structured to avoid internal detection thresholds, the report said.
The total gross sales involving the unauthorized markdowns were around $55 million, and due to markdowns of about $24 million, the net sales were around $30 million, the report said.
A negative sales margin of -$4.3 million was calculated for the transactions, indicating that not only was no money made on the sales, but they cost Home Depot over $4 million, the report said.

Who says home depot drones are never helpful to customers?
He must have gotten a million in kickbacks? Anyways deposit that in a bank outside the US and the IRS will never know. A solid Mexican bank will do. One that has ATM machines in the USA. You withdraw cash this way.
In fact the reverse is a common way for migrants legal/illegal to send money home. Establish an account here in say Citibank, and your Mexican family can get the money from a Citibank atm machine in Mex.

My next door neighbor of 2 years moved here from Dade.....the way she tells it, there are very few White folks left down there.

Just doing the work Americans wont do.
And this is an excellent example of what DOGE type teams could do all over the country. Computers, although they use 1s and 0s, do a great job in exposing $$$!
In government and in private businesses, there is like losses into the trillions . . .

Mauricio: "Man, Home Depot's a willing sucker.....I'm getting my cut of the discounting, bigtime."
1980 or so,I knew a guy who was a manager at a Montgomery Wards store in Richmond, CA . There were railroad tracks that serviced the warehouse. The guy was marking freezers, washer machines , big ticket items as “damaged in shipping “ and he was selling it out the back door .
All good scams must come to an end. When they caught him, they fired him rather than calling the cops.
After the Great Reset, the stocks & pillory will make their rightful return. They worked for a reason; and the reason they worked was the reason they were dismantled.
*”markdown fraud”* - I’m **SHOCKED!**
When I go shopping, I always buy the cashier a candy bar. Of course, I always use Self-Checkout.
apparently HD needs to tighten up their inventory and sales controls ...

Similar here, but I get mine a beer. He's had a rough day.
Disgusting. Thanks for posting.
And what is Mauricio Jimenez’ immigration/citizenship status???
It may be possible for HD to sue the favored customers.
Sounds like conspiracy. More people will probably be charged.
