Bike owner will be prosecuted for assault or something.
When I commuted by bicycle, I used a quick-release seat post binder. When I parked the bike, I took the saddle and seatpost with me.
Looks like the thief may have gotten his just reward. No reason to prosecute the owner, but this IS California.
