A 19-year-old Indiana man is accused of fatally beating a 71-year-old man inside his home, binding the victim and leaving him to die — and after his arrest, allegedly telling police: “I’m done like fried chicken.”
Cameion Brown was taken into custody and charged with one count each of murder and auto theft in the slaying of Darryl Miller, court records show.

According to the article, the alleged perp snapped when the older guy touched him inappropriately. Given the extremely unusual fact that the older man let this homeless guy live in his house, the possibility of him doing this can’t be ruled out. Still, how could the young guy prove it? Maybe with testimony from others suggesting that the old man had a history of this sort of thing. Still, even if he did touch the young man inappropriately, that’s no excuse for killing him.
“Teen” is a more descriptive word than “Man”.

I've done that. The tales on the old Dimensional Door thread were legendary.
Limited options in my case. Bitter California divorce, crushing alimony and child support, I got the booby prize; her old 1905 decrepit 1,000 square foot cracker box house, on a main drag, on the highest earthquake risk area in the valley, on a flood plain, on a Superfund site, etc. I needed some roommates or I would lose even that.
The only people who showed up were a couple of homeless gals who were in the very nearby homeless encampment. They could pay the rent and that made it possible to pay the mortgage.
Usual rules, guests welcome for short stays. That worked out...
Ended up with a bunch of 3 day guests.
The kids were great! They'd get a couple nights of sleeping without fear of being hassled, do their laundry, shower, get cleaned up and go get a job!
For years afterwards one would occasionally show up on the doorstep just to thank me!
That was pretty humbling. I did so little and they were so changed and so grateful.

To be clear: I’m not justifying anything that may have happened in this case. Not even saying that I absolutely believe the charge of “inappropriate touching”.
Just that the story may be more complicated than it seems.
And as a general matter that I have no sympathy for rapists. And the rape doesn’t have to be completed to justify killing the rapist in self defense.
The age old question has finally been answered: chickens actually *do* have lips.
The only reperations owed are to the South.
They were right.
