saw.

"We found many very interesting documents, I must say," Trump said. "And the first releases will begin very, very soon. So, you can go out and see if that phenomenon is correct.

"You'll figure it out. Let me know," he added. "But we've had a lot of questions. It's something that — it really captivates the mind, there's no question about it."

Oh boy. More grainy black and white shaky cam video that looks like it was taken from a pinhole camera from the Victorian era. Or maybe we’ll see a file where they have some hand drawn pictures from people that say they were abducted. I always love the pencil drawn saucers that look like they were done by children.

Maybe we can have another Senate hearing with the UFO experts that come out and say that we have the bodies cause some guy told them. What a distraction. I guess it takes people’s minds off of the $12 loaf of bread and $6 a gallon gas. Oh and the wars. And the deficit. And the 50 million illegals.

I agree. A sea change from “no such thing” to “info from the Federal government coming soon” during my lifetime. From vaccines to quack-cines in that time, too. Some new round of BS is in the offing.

I almost wish we actually do have some alien technology. It would be nice to know that we have something really advanced in the hopper. After watching the Artemis mission using the old 1960s technology I’ve been kind of disappointed lately. Maybe they are hiding the good stuff?

They always do this when they’re in trouble. The original TicTac UFOs came out during the first two week lockdown for Covid. Anytime they have bad publicity, time to bring out the aliens.

Hey, I actually wish there were aliens. Wouldn’t that be great? That would be terribly interesting. This planet is so boring. Unfortunately, and it is painfully obviously true, we have not been visited. I have never in all my life seen one piece of conclusive evidence to change my mind. Absolutely nothing.

One of these days, I fully expect them to roll out an ersatz second coming of Jesus, aliens, the big praying mantis… Or something. And of course, whatever it is they roll out created in the fever swamp of some Larry Ellison AI center will tell us we y’all need to obey the government and stop eating meat and driving our cars or something.

I’m with you. I wish flying saucers would get here. But I’m afraid all of this came out of 1950s sci-fi, and letting go is really hard.

Or start a war. Nothing like "rally around the flag" to distract from domestic problems. But since the Iran conflict didn't really have the desired mass PR effect, yes, it's time to bring out the stories about little green men.

Repost…A decade ago, the New Horizons probe flew past Pluto. I was all-in on this saga for years, so I read anything on the topic. One thing that caught my attention was the engineers’ concern for the probe hitting a random piece of space rock, especially as it approached the Pluto system. They said at 40,000 mph (the probe’s cruising speed), all it would take to destroy New Horizons was impact with a rock the size of rice. That didn’t happen thankfully, and we got stunning photos and another demonstration of American exceptionalism.

A few years thereafter, on FR there was a great thread on the physics of space and light-speed travel…not a Star Trek or sci-fi talk, but people who actually know physics (well…it’s the internet…they sounded smart…) and math really well. This same physics/math problem arose….the faster you go, it doesn’t take much in terms of size of what you hit, to wipe you out. Someone posted a formula and there was agreement on this problem. The problem isn’t just that collision damage issue, but even IF you could achieve light speed, you’d be exposed to this risk for years if not centuries.

The posters in this thread then posited that this damage issue COULD be overcome if mankind could, say, develop a guidance system that identifies rock etc. and steers around it. The counter to that was at light speed the size of the rock that’d kill you would be so small that 1) no sensor could detect it in time and 2) even if detected, you’d have to slow down the spacecraft, swerve, etc. The end of that discussion was that of a “never say never” attitude.

Fair enough. I’m not a physicist nor do I play one on TV.

But physics applies to all physical beings. It seems impossible, physically, for ET (or us) to travel at light speed for years to visit wherever, and then go home etc. It’s just not going to happen.

And yet, UFO sightings and aliens and close encounters happen with enough frequency where it’s hard to just blame it on drugs.

The answer, not just religiously, but empirically, points to demons. Fallen angels. And Demons really do hate us and want to serve us for dinner.

I hate to say this, but we have never been visited by anyone outsise of earth.

People who believe in alien encounters have watched too many Star Trek episodes and forgotten that it's fiction. No object with nonzero mass can reach or even exceed the speed of light. Even traveling close to the speed of light, the closest planetary system is years away and the closest candidates for habitable planets are centuries away. Not a very plausible scenario for little green, big-eyed men in flying saucers to visit Roswell for the cosmic equivalent of a roadside picnic.

A physicist explained that in order to accelerate near the speed of light, and travel from the closest star to earth, would take the energy of a whole star. And you then need energy to slow down.
