Fernando Mendoza Criticized Over Draft Decision Amid Raiders Projection
Heavy.com ^

“I think you should get your a– to the draft. I don’t think it’s asking too much for you to get on a private jet, fly to Pittsburgh with all of your family and be there so when your name gets called, you walk out on that stage, YOU DAP WITH THE AKWARD COMMISSIONER, YOU HUG HIM, you rock the Raider jersey and you say, ‘I am proud to be in the NFL.’”

Something stupid here. Biggest day of his life and he'd prefer to be with his family. Commentator needs to chill. I'm happy to see the NFL get cut down a notch. The draft is getting worse than the Oscars. 300k rabids descending on the host city just to act out. On one hand this is Rome. On the other the league is full of itself and diluting it's product.

Me? I'm loving every minute!

Less than 2 weeks away. Prime time. Silliness abounds. No one knows who these players are but they know what positions on their team is in need. Those that don’t follow the draft think there’s something wrong with the rest of us. What’s up next is an 18 game schedule where the players take turns tearing up their knees and CTE collisions abound while the rest of us need more and more of this drug. Owners give nothing more than lip service like 2 political parties pretending to be different.

Remember, his mother has MS and it’s difficult for her to travel. Anyone criticizing him for this is an idiot.

In the end zone. Then point to Heaven and say thank you to the One who helped you become who are.

Mendoza is a very family-oriented guy. Who cares where he celebrates his selection? He’s getting drafted to go play football...let his work on the field do the talking.

Sending TV crews to the expected #1 picks family has been a thing for the televised NFL draft for decades.

Also, if he is in the “Raider” mindset, there is NO ONE the Raiders hate more than Pittsburg. Not Kansas City. Not Denver. Pittsburgh. Maybe he wants to stay away from his nemesis until hew goes to defeat them.

The guy who wrote his opinion needs to find other work. Or use a better AI system. Absolute drivel under his name.

The commentator is a fool. Everyone knows he wanted to be drafted by the Cowboys. Nobody wants to be a Raider /s

So what you’re telling me is that his family is more important than the over-bloated NFL?

Would we all not be super envious to be so good at a craft that we tell every employer to buzz off?

Roger Goodell is a slime ball. He should defer the draft gig to a HOF player.

Mendoza has an interesting take on his heritage, which he calls Hispanic.

His long line original family was Euro-Spanish - not Hispanic.

Only two generations of his family lived in Cuba.

Most Americans do not understand that the 1960 anti-Castro Cuban refugees were the business owners and professional class of Cuba, which was the wealthiest country in Latin America.

Most of them traced their long term heritage to Europe.

They were the 1960 refugees who transformed Miami into a moderately Conservative and financial success story.

In sharp contrast, most 1980 Cuban refugees were African, Caribbean, and Hispanic. They vote heavily Democrat.

His mom has been battling MS for years. He wants to be home with her, his biggest fan.

I’d cut him some slack, personally.

“Me? I’m loving every minute!”

The best pick the browns made since coming back, (1999), was Joe Thomas. Thomas did his job and made the Hall of Fame in spite of being on what may very well be the worst team in the history of professional sports.

Joe and his dad went hunting on draft day. Thomas has his priorities straight, and it appears Mendoza does as well.
