The article suggests replacing a router after 3 to 7 years. It lists other security steps as well.
Just something else to check/worry about.
In the meantime, just hit the reset button
Anything made by TP-Link is now banned. It is Chinese with backdoors in it. Steals everything.
Linksys hasn’t updated most of their routers.
If it’s banned, why is still being sold on Amazon?
“Anything made by TP-Link is now banned. “
False
Most routers don’t last 7 years, especially LinkSys brand. They last 3 years.
We hard wired our household LAN, so no worries about wireless hackers.

I have wifi but ethernet to main servers and those servers have neither bluetooth or wifi on.
Buffalo?

We were having all kinds of wifi problems with speed. Finally contacted Spectrum and said the problem must be theirs. Oh, yes, they said, but they only replace the routers if requested. I told others and they all followed through to get new routers. Spectrum knew it.
My router from Asus (medium high-end) doesn’t play nice with Apple products. I go with Netgear for low end. Buffalo Tech seems to have dropped out. I didlike Linksys anything. I bought a TP-Link once. Great performance, then I found out why and gave it away. D-Link is okay.
Ubiquiti/Unifi -—>VLANs -—>Policy Engine -—>Problem solved - easy to implement.
I have a couple sets of TP-Link point-to-point wireless ethernet bridges. Love ‘em. Just checked; they’re made in Vietnam. Vietnam is commie, but they’re not COMMIE-commie, right? :-)

Oh. Another TACO moment.
You had me at wifi problems with speed thru Spectrum. Spectrum is the only ISP in the country that makes Comcast look good. When I moved to Florida, I initially got Spectrum. When I saw the equipment, I was aghast that they were pushing out “new” 20-year-old models of routers and TV boxes (actually, the TV boxes looked like the ones I had in the 80’s). Most counter-intuitive bass ackwards software ever. When Ian hit, I was without internet for A WEEK. Quickly switched to ATT Fiber and went to Youtube.tv. I will NEVER do business with Spectrum again.
Linksys new link is to your friendly local hacker.
