When I first moved to Pocatello, ID, I needed to replace my eyeglasses. I was a LensCrafters customer in San Diego. The closest store way in Layton, UT. I made an appointment and made the drive. It was in the mall. Appointment kept and I returned home with my new glasses. A couple years later, I needed to get an eye exam and replacement glasses. I called LensCrafters in Layton and made the appointment. I already had the address from the last visit, so I set off to Layton. On arrival, I found an abandoned mall. WTF? I called LensCrafters. They answered. Oh, we're in the NEW mall. Address please? I drove over and found the new mall and new LensCrafters. Appointment completed. I returned home.

What happened? Gangs. The mall became too dangerous and all the tenants vacated. Elderly visitors were being attacked and the Layton PD was too afraid to deal with the problem. A new mall was constructed and everyone moved.

Wasn’t it that philosopher Chris Rock that taught us that every town has two malls?
