Whenever they have film of a problem in an Arabic country, there are thousands of men just standing around. All have bewildered idiot looks on their faces. Obviously not working and the only skill they have is using their wives or any woman they run across and marry for 45 minutes for sexual pleasure.

What should one do about it? I’m open to suggestions!

You really have to be told?

You have a voice, you know people, you can attend city council meetings, you can know and repeat the truth.

If you would take the time to teach just one person.

No wonder we are in trouble.

i’m still amazed that biggest and most damming aspect of the Somali day care scam is the one totally ignored by everyone - why in the world are Somalis who are all on welfare and not working getting day care funding intended to help hard pressed American working mothers keep their jobs and make ends meet?

And why are the never miss an an opportunity to miss an opportunity Republicans so silent about this.

Reminds me of the COSTCO in Cary, NC on a Saturday morning. Not nearly as many burqas, but the population defiantly sways to Indian, Chinese and Korean. Packed to the hilt with maybe half a dozen whites in the mix. The parking lot is straight up Bengaluru at rush hour.

I’m also noticing a huge uptick in the use of scooters. They’re everywhere.

A swirling, chattering sea of hijabs, the whole place looking less like Bloomington, Minnesota and more like a bustling open-air market in Mogadishu that somehow got airlifted into the snowbelt and handed EBT cards.

Here are the lyrics to the background song in the President's video:

Mad World
by Imagine Dragons (originally by Tears for Fears)

All around me are familiar faces
Worn-out places, worn-out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere

And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head, I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
And to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello, teacher, tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very
Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world

Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world

Respectfully, I think you and I have a different expectation of how much detail should be in a constitutional amendment. If you look at the amendments before the 14th and how much verbiage each one has, you'll note that the only ones with step-by-step details are the ones that pertain to the political process of the government. For example, here are the word counts of the amendments:

1st: 45 words
2nd: 27 words
3rd: 32 words
4th: 54 words
5th: 108 words
6th: 81 words
7th: 50 words
8th: 16 words
9th: 21 words
10th: 28 words
11th: 43 words
12th: 401 words -- because it details the change in the process of electing prez and VP
13th: 94 words (including the headers "Section 1" and "Section 2")

Let's compare those to the 14th Amendment.

14th: 433 words (including the "Section" headings).

248 of those words are in Sections 2 and 3. Section 2 is to clarify the details of the election process regarding the new citizens (i.e. don't even think about a 3/5ths clause anymore). No wonder it's about as terse as Article I's Sections 2 and 3. Section 3 is saying nobody in the rebellion can hold office.

433 words - 248 words = only 185 words for the remainder of the 14th Amendment. Take out Section 4 (8the government isn't paying the debt of rebel states) and you have only 80 words in Section 1 (the citizenship portion we're arguing about lately)

So the 14th Amendment, excluding the political process section, isn't wordy. It's much like the prior amendments (again, excluding the political process amendments). Now let's look at the portion of the 1866 Civil Rights Act that you copied. It has 156 words. Practically twice as many as the comparable 14th Amendment's Section 1. IMHO, it would be unreasonable to expect the 14th Amendment's Section 1 to be that terse.

So the 14th Amendment, excluding the political process section, isn't wordy.

My point wasn't that it was excessively wordy. (It is.) My point was that the words they chose were worse than the words they previously chose.

The Civil Rights Act of 1866 completely clears up any misunderstanding that is inherent in the 14th.

My complaint isn't that they used too many words (which they did) but that they used the *WRONG WORDS*, which made it so subject to the abuse it has accumulated from Federal Judges.

"That all persons born in the United States and not subject to any foreign power, "

Is *WAY* clearer than "subject to the jurisdiction thereof".

My point isn't that the 14th's Section 1 doesn't have enough words. My point is that it has just enough words we'd expect, but the CRA of 1866 has too many words (not for my tastes, but what we would expect compared to earlier amendments).

If the 14th Amend Sec 1 was written for my tastes, I'd prefer it to look more like the 1866 CRA. Likewise if it was written in today's time in which every jot and tittle is challenged or stretched routinely by the left. But I'm not going to today criticize the 19th century writer (John Bingham) for using the normal amount of words for his time for 14th Am Sec 1.

Just that first part of the first section could have been left the same, and the thing would have worked as well.

And then we wouldn't be having all the loony Federal Judges hanging crap on it like a Christmas tree.

"Anchor babies"? Wouldn't have happened had they just left the original section 1 in it.

Go to SUPER MERCADO on Buford Hwy NE edge of Atlanta.

200 customers in the fresh produce and fresh meat section. 100 customers in the canned and boxed processed food section.
100 customers in the refrigeration section
25-50 customers in the non-food/cooking utensil section.
50-100 customers in the 18 checkout lines.

On average 1 customer processed thru checkout each 1-2 minutes. Thurs to Sun are the big money days.
Rarely see a SNAP, VISA, DISCOVER, MASTER CARD. Do they even have them?
You see a lot of cash, 20s and 100s, because that is how they are paid weekly at their job.

The Chinese owner is probably one of the richest guys in metro Atlanta. Less than 1% of customers in this Brookhaven gold mine are Chinese. But the Chinese owner empathizes and understands them.
