JUST IN: Hegseth Ousts Two More Senior Army Generals

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth fired two more Army Generals on Thursday after he ousted Army Chief of Staff General Randy George.

General George served in the role under Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

“General Randy A. George will be retiring from his position as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army effective immediately,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said.

“The Department of War is grateful for General George’s decades of service to our nation. We wish him well in his retirement,” Parnell said.

Two other Army generals were removed along with George, said two defense officials, who like some others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the shake-up.

They are Gen. David Hodne, who became the head of the service’s Training and Transformation Command in October, and Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., the chief of Army chaplains.

With George’s ouster, Hegseth has remade nearly the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff, a panel of senior military officers at the Pentagon that advises both the president and the secretary. The only ones remaining from when Hegseth took office in January 2025 are Gen. Eric M. Smith, commandant of the Marine Corps, and Gen. B. Chance Saltzman, head of the Space Force.

No insecurities at all.

If someone is going to make an unsubstantiated claim about a member of the military regarding their service, that person is getting is getting called out.

Period.

There’s literally no indication that GEN George was a DEI hire.

The quantity and caliber of people that FReepers will throw under the bus to try and salvage Trump's image is truly incredible.

We would rather throw your worthless arse under the bus. I am sure you got a tingle down your leg when you heard that one of our Fighter jets was shot down today.

No more than Cassandra did when hearing of the Greeks being inside the horse.

Me: "Something bad is going to happen. We shouldn't be doing this."
You: "No it's not. It's fine."

*something bad happens*

You: "You're probably glad that happened aren't you?"

Officers get Bronze Stars for showing up. Unless it has a V, it’s a participation award.

You're not wrong, but it doesn't change the fact that he showed up. Four times.

False comparison.

Austin was visiting the Philippines. It was their health protocols he was complying with.

Leftist regimes run on obedience, not professionalism.

It’s prudent to purge their members.

Example: Pinochet’s purging of Allende appointees.

;)

They award the Bronze Star V for receiving the Bronze Star in a combat zone. The tell is they have no citation of specific action.

That's just not so.

The Bronze Star without V is an award for leadership in the combat zone (and only in a combat zone) won by mid-level officers and warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers. More senior officers and the most senior NCOs get the Legion of Merit or (for joint duties) the Defense Superior Service Medal with "C" Device. More junior officers and NCOs get their service's Commendation Medal or the Joint Commendation Medal with "C" Device

The Bronze Star with "V" Device is (essentially) a different award. It's the fourth-ranked ground and sea combat valor decoration, below the Silver Star and above the Commendation Medal with "V" Device. (Compared to the awards for aerial combat valor, it ranks junior to the Silver Star when awarded for aerial combat valor, equally with the Distinguished Flying Cross with "V" Device, and senior to the Air Medal with "V" Device).

Also, as a rule, the caliber and extent of mid-level leadership that gets you the Bronze Star in a combat zone gets you the Meritorious Service Medal elsewhere.

“That’s just not so.”

Fine. See if you can find his Iraq B/V citation and post it if you can. It’s public record and should be out there. I looked for it and his Purple Heart citation but couldn’t find either.

Just curious cuz I spent 4 years in Iraq and should have crossed paths with him a few times (two years at Victory, 1 in the IZ and 1 in Babylon/Diwaniyah with the MND-CS).

---- "False comparison. Austin was visiting the Philippines. It was their health protocols he was complying with."

Thanks for the apologia for a Biden guy. In the photo posted, one observes those face visors. So....

Ausitn had a meeting with "...by Filipino counterpart Delfin Lorenzana," in which there were no face sheilds. Additionally the video in the article shows a mixture of cloth and paper masks, some with and some without face sheilds. And then there's the PR photo with Delfin Lorenzana -- without face shields on either.

Source" Face of the American military: Lloyd Austin is mocked for wearing a VISOR in the Philippines while battle over masks rages back home with GOP leaders hitting back at updated CDC rules Daily Mail, 30 July 2021

Turns out, from the coverage of that time, the Philipine order was for medical workers. And, when one looks at the Philipine officer with the sword walking beside Austin, he has no plastic visor. Theater is so often a things of gaffes, which is why shoots often have someone called "continuity." In the Daily Mail article's coverage, there is no continuity.
