It's the Great Fear that has been haunting California Democrats, and especially Politico, since they noticed the possibility last December that because of the Democrats splitting the votes among each other in the open gubernatorial primary in June. The two top candidates could end up being Republicans, thus locking Democrats out of the November general election.
The angst over this possibility has only increased dramatically since then, with the latest poll results sending poor Politico over the edge to the extent they have completely dropped even the bare pretense of objectivity as they MindMeld with the Democrats in deep deep concern as you see with senior politics reporter Jeremy B. White furiously rubbing the worry beads on Wednesday in "Democrats risk a historic upset in California."
White might have written his panic piece on April Fool's Day and the joke appears to be on the Democrats as illustrated by the subtitle: "How the party in America's bluest state could lock itself out of the governor’s race."

Three Democratic candidates — Congressman Eric Swalwell, Congresswoman Katie Porter, and climate advocate Tom Steyer — trail behind, each capturing 10% of likely voters. The other five democratic candidates each hold 3% or less of likely voters.
LOL!!!
Turns out ranked choice is a rank choice.
This is actually an open primary. Not the same thing.
This is what can happen when corrupt democrats try to game the system to ensure they always win.
Swalwell won’t quit - unless another Fang Fang suddenly appears.
But I wonder if Porter or Steyer could be convinced to drop out if enough $$$ were flashed under the table?
Don’t worry. They’ll cheat.
Ease up Libtards, the GOPee is not all that far from the ‘Rats.
Ask John Thune. or Ditch McConnell, if you can catch him on a lucid day.
a deal will be made in a smokey back room and either the lessor dems drop out or they’ll have tragic accidents
“Turns out ranked choice is a rank choice.”
This isn’t ranked choice, it is a top 2 primary. If it was ranked choice the lower ranked Dems would be eliminated eventually and 1 or 2 Dems would make the general election
4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."
It was their debate qualifying rules, now live with it.
But I'm not surprised that the party that invalidated their primary and forced a candidate onto the party that nobody wanted, now wants to invalidate their debate rules and force candidates onto the party that their voters don't want.

“Our Democracy”....
If we are lucky and 2 republicans finish 1-2 they should hold a joint press conference and say they fixed it. Then announce that the campaign will last 28 days only starting in Octobe. 4 months for the rats to steam and demand an investigation.
Anyone remember Ed Rollins? He claimed to give ‘walking around’ money to black churches asking pastors to ‘clam up’ in return for a new roof or paint job.
The solution is obvious. Newsom calls an emergency session of the California State Legislature and the democrats pass a bill eliminating the ‘jungle primary’ for this election stating that not having democrats on the gubernatorial ballot is ‘bad for Our Democracy™. Newsom signs the emergency legislation to the great praise of the state’s newspapers and Bob’s you uncle.
Please briefly explain the two. Thanks in advance.
That was what I expected to see, but now I'm not sure. The dems and the media are playing the "race card" --- saying black candidates were left out of the scheduled debate (now cancelled). Sounds like they're giving up on the Governor's race and instead are working to delegitimize the contest and the office if they don't somehow win it.
If a Republican wins, he'll be a racist who stole the election. With supermajorities in both houses, the dems can block anything an (R) governor attempts. Recall petitions will be printed up as soon as they know which name to fill in.
And the dems will make absolutely sure they win the next election.
You're right.
It's in their dna like attacks are in the dna of scorpions, poisonous snakes and federal judges.🦂🐍🧑⚖️
Judges are the ones in the black robes.
**Swalwell won’t quit - unless another Fang Fang suddenly appears. But I wonder if Porter or Steyer could be convinced to drop out if enough $$$ were flashed under the table?**
3 things: Porter won’t be the Fang Fang. 2)Money for Steyer to drop out? He’s got plenty of his own. 3) PJ’s a great cook.
**If a Republican wins, he’ll be a racist who stole the election.**
All the better. The label needs to be what it is-you tell me.
**Please briefly explain the two. Thanks in advance.**
PJ shouldn’t have to. We’re smarter than that.
NOT TO WORRY DEMOCRATS!!! A judge will fix this and make sure two democrats are top of the ticket. There is NO WAY California lets two republicans run. NONE.
Ranked choice ain’t the great scheme they thought it would be.
By June, some Soros money will induce a number of Democratic candidates to drop out. Jus’ sayin’...
