“Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war,” the first American pope, citing a Bible passage, told congregants in St. Peter’s Square, according to The Associated Press.
“He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them,” he added.

Peace is available to you.
True peace.
That is hilarious!!!
different god, the mask slips
The Church has survived many a stupid and heretical pope and will survive this idiot.
No pope has ever made it to heaven. I would take his advice about Christianity as much as I would take Tucker Carlson’s.
God listens to the prayers of everyone.
Has Leo not read the Bible? What a shame. I had such high hopes for him. He’s just another Francis.
Guess we’re back to the Pope-a-Dope era
Given that Popes made war -- from Urban II through Leo IX to Julius II and more, many more -- popes themselves have been warriors. This Clown the First forgets the "warrior pope" and the great cultural triumphs of the high Renaissance.

May Fran's Sis, the Pope of Ice and followers worship Pachmama in and through perdition.
RE: As did George Washington.
To the left of the trees is a man with a hat. He was the witness who watched Washington and heard him praying. Great stamp. US # 645.

“According to the story depicted on the stamp, which is based on an 1866 engraving by John C. McRae and a painting by Henry Brueckner, Potts was a local Quaker who came upon George Washington praying in the woods during the winter at Valley Forge.”

So Pope Leo concedes that God didn’t hear the prayers of his predecessors when they called for the Crusades?
“I’m not sure the pope has read The Book.”
If he had, he would have found out the Pope was originally the leader of the army for the Vatican until it was disbanded in 1870. And they were active during WW II. A good article is here:

RE: ...reading the Bible...
Fr. John Ricardo on his recorded talks sometimes kids the congregants “I’m going to quote now from the Bible. Maybe one of our visiting Protestant brothers and sisters will let you look at their Bible.”
Something about Jesus chasing the money changers out of the church?

Catholic Church teachings include respecting a country’s laws. There’s nothing wrong nor controversial to want illegal out. Yet, because the illegals are mostly his flocks and may increase the church’s bank accounts to pay for the priests scandals, the whole organization of Catholic Church talks like split tongue do.
C.S. Lewis says, "If one has committed a murder, the right Christian thing to do would be to give yourself up to the police and be hanged. It is therefore in my opinion, perfectly right for a Christian judge to sentence a man to death or a Christian soldier to kill an enemy, I always thought so, ever since I became a Christian, and long before the war, and still think so now that we are a peace. It is no good quoting, "Thou shalt not kill." There are two Greek words: the ordinary word to kill and the word to murder. And when Christ quotes that commandment He uses the murder one in all three accounts, Matthew, Mark, and Luke. And I am told there is the same distinction in Hebrew. All killing is not murder any more that all sexual intercourse is adultery. When soldiers came to St. John the Baptist asking what to do, he never remotely suggested that they ought to leave the army: nor did Christ when he met a Roman sergeant-major - what they called a centurion. The idea of the knight - the Christian in arms for defense of a good cause - is one of the great Christian ideas."
Christianity can be such a difficult religion. Clearly, the Pope has gone elsewhere for solace.
Good point. Also the Crusades, of course and the famous dialogue on July 22, 1209:
Asked if the battle should be stopped in advance because there was evidence there are Catholics in the town along with the enemy...
“Kill them all, God will know his own” (Latin: Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius) is historically attributed to Arnaud Amaury, a papal legate during the 1209 Battle of Béziers. It signifies the ruthless, indiscriminate slaughter of both Cathar heretics and Catholics during the Albigensian Crusade.

I have no words! This mindset would have had all WW2 Christians bowing to Hitler and Japan; this mindset will have Islam subdue and slaughter all those who won't bow to Allah.
PSALM 144
1 Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. 2 He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples[a] under me. 3 Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them? 4 They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow. 5 Part your heavens, Lord, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they smoke. 6 Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy; shoot your arrows and rout them. 7 Reach down your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners 8 whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful. 9 I will sing a new song to you, my God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you, 10 to the One who gives victory to kings, who delivers his servant David. From the deadly sword 11 deliver me; rescue me from the hands of foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful. 12 Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace. 13 Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. Our sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields; 14 our oxen will draw heavy loads.[b] There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets. 15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.

What? I mean seriously.
The Chicago thug is channeling G-d now. What a dork. There is a lot history that says you’re wrong Leo.
