“Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war,” the first American pope, citing a Bible passage, told congregants in St. Peter’s Square, according to The Associated Press.

“He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them,” he added.

well, the Bible says that there is a time for war, and King David, who is a man after God‘s heart started all sorts of wars. I seem to remember a few popes who started wars. Thank God they did too.

God, in the Bible, plenty of time told people to go to war. I’m not sure the pope has read The Book.

So God didn’t listen to Abraham Lincoln’s prayers? Or Winston Churchill’s? Henry V was wasting his time praying before Agincourt?

Yeah, they might still have one of those Bibles sitting somewhere in the Vatican. I would assume so.

I’m Catholic and don’t proceed to know the pope’s heart..nor do I agree with him much of the time. But I do appreciate him taking a stand for peace.

I trust that God knows Hegseth’s...but I myself am weary of the way he mingles suspect theology with politics.

And your comment speaks to that...Just because the Middle East map maintained their Biblical names..doesn’t make the mission “Biblical.”

That’s why we are winning. We are defending ourselves against satanic animals that have a seventh century mindset that tells them to kill everyone they find offensive which is Christians Jews and half of the Muslim world. That’s why there is a 30 foot high wall around the Vatican.

Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.

Patton's Prayer, oh, it worked :) Patton was in his headquarters in Luxembourg City. He looked out of his window, delighted to see blue above, not gray. “What a glorious day for killing Germans!” Patton would note in his diary.

This Pope is a moron and a heretic.

I’m Catholic and have zero hesitation saying that.

Taking a stand for peace??? I was a practicing Catholic who went to church every Sunday but stopped five years ago...

When has this pope or the last hypocrite taken a stance again proxy wars waged by iran or china or the drug cartels?? How about the central and south American authoritarians that have waged war against their citizens??

And on and on and on....this guy is a complete hypocrite- just like the past pope...

God not only listens to prayers, He answers them, even when the answer is “no” or “not now”.

Even if Israel did not exist, Iran would still be exporting terrorism and building nuclear weapons in order to destroy the West and any Muslim country not of the Shia sect. If the West did not exist, the latter would still be true.
