The Bulls wanted to see more from Jaden Ivey than just the four games he gave them before his knee issues became a concern and he was shut down.
As of Monday, however, there is nothing the organization wants to see from him any longer.
The Bulls waived Ivey on Monday “due to conduct detrimental to the team” because of Ivey’s latest social media comments saying Pride Month celebrated “unrighteousness.”
Acquired at the trade deadline from Detroit in the Kevin Huerter deal, there were some red flags around Ivey last month when he held an impromptu postgame sermon about the “Old Jaden Ivey” being dead, especially now that “Christ was in his life.”
Over the last few weeks, he started taking to his social media account and preaching to people his beliefs, while condemning those that he felt weren’t “saved.”

Ivey’s Mom is the women’s basketball coach at Notre Dame.
He criticized the NBA’s support of LGBTQ and Catholicism.
Ivey’s quotes:
‘The world can proclaim LGBTQ, right?’ Ivey told viewers via livestream on Monday. ‘They proclaim Pride Month. And the NBA, they proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, “Come join us for Pride Month, to celebrate unrighteousness.” They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it in the streets. Unrighteousness.’
‘Catholicism is a false religion,’ he wrote. ‘And is not the true Doctrine of Christ. It does not lead to salvation in Jesus Christ.’
‘I’m not the same player I used to be,’ he said. ‘That’s why. I’m not the J.I. I used to be. The old J.I. is dead. I’m alive in Christ no matter what the basketball setting is.’

What Jaden Ivy said that got him cancelled:

Yep he dared to call “Pride Month” for the pure garbage that it is, made up nonsense to glorify disgusting behavior
After all gay rights is the most important foundational element of any basketball team.

Would they have done the same if Ivey was a Muslim? Apparently only Christians are fair game. As a Catholic, I find the guy’s remarks ridiculous & judgmental, but he shouldn’t lose his job over them, especially since he wished harm on no one. He still has a right to his opinions, even if it involves a sacrosanct group like LGBTs.
May the Good Lord bless and keep this young man. And may the NBA go extinct.
