Over the past few months, there has been a rash of social media videos from nurses making absolutely atrocious comments about people with whom they disagree politically. Here’s an example, posted this past weekend.
Actually, these have been common since Pres. Trump began his second term, but they’ve really ramped up since the beginning of combat in the Gulf. This one wants all MAGA supporters to jump off bridges so that she can take pleasure in watching. Others, cutting a lot closer to the bone, have stated that they’d refuse care to MAGA supporters or, in one case, take steps during treatment to assure that wouldn’t recover. (I heard that this one was fired, but I haven’t been able to track the story down to verify that.) In other words, acting like those medical psychopaths who deliberately target patients.
The response to these vids has been surprise and shock: these young women have embarked on careers devoted to the care of the sick and helpless. Yet here they are wishing pain, misery, and even death to those who hold different opinions.
There exists a medical protocol called the Liverpool Care Pathway. It was pioneered by the British National Health Service as a means of saving money regarding the treatment of terminal patients. It is widely used in Europe, Canada, and has made inroads in a number of hospices in the U.S. (The NHS claims that it has been "discontinued" but it remains in use under other names.)
What it amounts to, behind the filigree of abstruse medical terminology, is injecting dying patients with large doses of morphine then walking out and closing the door. That’s it, really. Patients are given no water or nourishment, just another morphine shot every few hours to keep ‘em quiet. After a few days

I would like to think these are just rare loudmouths.
Many nurses are organized in the SEIU and UNITE NOW!. They vote to organize under these political unions, former components of ACORN.
The spirit of the antichrist is running wild and free presently.
They are not, my wife is an RN, most nurses are batshite crazy progs, also my daughter who is a lawyer says the same of lawyers.
if they’re making videos they should be easy to track down...
TDS is a cult
Rare or not, an excellent argument to employ Optimus robots to provide care.
I’d like to think that my politics wouldn’t play a role in my health care, but at the same time, I wouldn’t feel the need to discuss my politics. Are people going in wearing MAGA hats? Do the questions they ask include “what is your political affiliation”? “Do you support ICE?” “DID you vote for Trump?”
Keep in mind, folks, political contributions are public record.
You don’t need to wear your MAGA hat or tee to the doc for a provider to know.
See my reply #10.
My bet is that’s how MAGA is being weeded out of jury pools, too.
My wife is also a long time RN, works in a large Boston hospital. I do not find this to be the case. I hang out with her work friends all the time. Everyone has their own opinion but we all get along- we even talk about politics. Ive never heard stories like this except when my wife points out the afore mentioned batshit ones on TikTok losing their jobs.
My lovely wife the RN/NP tells stories of the ‘young’ nurses that will curl your hair. Does this stuff actually happen? Hell yes! NEVER go to a hospital without a relative/friend with you to ask questions.
Wait till they decide that the morphine is too expensive.
I spent ten days in the hospital last week.
After reading all of these stories i made it a point to turn off fox news whenever a nurse walked into my room.
have stated that they’d refuse care to MAGA supporters? I hope they do that because then we can have them fired for cause and eliminate all of them. Make them pay a price for their Political “hobby”.
Well, it is anecdotal. DC area here but I would have guessed Boston would be similar.
I know this is going to ruffle a few feathers but I gotta ask, is your circle of RN associations mostly white or black.
My wife’s is most distinctive in the racial makeup, much as you would expect for DC.
The ugly secret is that’s been bed-clearing protocol at hospitals for a few decades now. No political bias required.
Was it groundhog week?
