I spent 23 plus years on the military and during that time we had extensive training on many aspects of nuclear material handling, especially before 91.
One of the tools made aware to all was the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST). This isn't necessarily a military unit but the make up of the team is dictated by the situation.
I'd bet dollars to donuts that we may have a NEST (or two), accompanied by some type of SF inside Iran trying to secure the gayahtollah's nuke stash.
What say you?

I think it’s 1000% certain they have Israeli special forces in Iran . Perhaps they may have some Delta force mixed in with the Israelis. But I don’t think in the country that big you’ll be able to find Nukes because I think the whole purpose is to simply stabilize the regime
If the main reason for the war is to ensure that Iran NEVER has a nuke then an objective is to remover all viable fissile material. You just can’t leave the stuff there no matter whos in charge.
I was on the NEST team at Sub Base Bangor WA.
It’s unlikely they are in Iran.
NEST doesn’t even carry weapons.
If Trump’s negotiations are real and ongoing, zero chance. He wouldn’t be stupid enough to upset deal. Are the nearby? Probably. Are they being briefed to be ready? Probably.
Unless they are crosstrained as mining engineers, they have no business near the bombed out nuke site.
The Army has units.

I would say it’s a safe bet that if they’re not already there that we will have spec ops teams in the country soon. Green Berets will assuredly work with the Kurds and the Azerbaijanis.

How well can the US detect the “nuke stash” from over flights?
I thought that the Iranians had been storing their nuclear material in deep underground bunkers, and that said bunkers had been collapsed.
It might take months with heavy equipment to get at it.

U-2 and TR-1 had sniffers
There is a reason I have my doubts about that. That material is likely to be behind a mountain of collapsed tunnel entry. It would likely take heavy equipment, trucks, very possibly a means of air supply, and fuel to get to it, something a commando team would not be able to sustain.
Bottom line: I think it will take a change in government to get that material out of there.

Agree. We also probably have “boots on the ground” ...(Trump will outsmart everyone...they won’t be wearing boots)... But anyway, my guess is the internal plants are clearing areas of regime bad actors... from which to base the resistance....once all projections of terror are destroyed and the uranium is captured and taken away ...the regime will be routed by the IDF, USA, and 50 million Persians...the movement of Marines, 82nd airborne probably a diversionary tactic. I base my opinion on the tactic used to Liberate Kuwait.. ..prepare the battlefield...fake one way ..sweep in from another direction overwhelmingly
