Ramadan in Turin

In the Italian city of Turin — with the help of local government and the Catholic Church — public and ecclesiastical spaces are being taken over by Muslims celebrating the end of Ramadan with mass prayer.

This is “Interfaith” in action. In the same way, Christians can go to Mecca or Riyadh and celebrate Easter in public spaces, right? Right?

Just try it and see what happens.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from Il Giornale:

Public spaces “occupied” by Ramadan: Here is the axis between Muslims and the Left

In Turin, Mayor Lo Russo is in the streets for the prayer of the ending of the fast: “The meaning of Ramadan is to go to the essence of things”. In Rome, the prayer in Piazza Consoli. And in Prato, the diocese has consented to the use of the inner square of the San Domenico complex.

The axis between Muslims and the left is increasingly evident, and further proof of this connection is the end of Ramadan prayer, which sees our public spaces “dedicated” to the ceremony of the end of the fasting period. In Turin, Mayor Stefano Lo Russo was present, the same one who seldom misses an opportunity to give institutional support to this community, for certainly he could not be exempt this time. “The profound meaning of Ramadan is that of going to the essence of things, looking inward, trying to understand things that are important. We are in a very complicated season of history, in which it is difficult to find the coordinates and to understand what is happening, and so, this profound meaning that Ramadan has for all people of the Muslim faith, also assumes a significance for those who are not religious, and who at this moment, are stimulated to go to the essence of things. Because today we all need to find meaning, balance, and humanity.” Then he thanked “the Muslim community for their daily commitment and for the contribution to our city” and the message of a now evident union: “Together, we can continue to construct a more just, more solid, more humane Turin.”

The prayer in Piazza Consoli in Rome, with the authorization of City Hall, is causing controversy, and the head of the Rome Lega party, Fabrizio Santori, in denouncing it, has decided to submit a question in the Campidoglio [City Hall]. “What is currently happening is unacceptable. The public square has been given over to the cult of Islam like an open-air mosque, putting in jeopardy the safety of residents in their daily lives. And it is also natural to ask if a similar event organized by Christians, or the simple celebration of an open-air mass would be permitted in an Islamic country. Women locked in enclosures so as not to disturb the men, once again, is testimony to the contempt, sexism, violence, and marginalization: behavior from which our civilization tries every day to completely emancipate itself, is instead repeated without shame or any protest in front of the eyes of thousands of people, and even endorsed through the permits from the administration.

However, since, perhaps, someone has exchanged Italy for Mecca (nothing like this has even been seen with Christians, let alone with those who have no accord with the Italian State), this year the Diocese of Prato has also consented to the use of the inner square of the San Domenico complex to celebrate the end of Ramadan. It would be appropriate if we all ask ourselves how Christians are treated in Muslim countries before we continue to submit on all fronts.

According to this article from Imola Oggi (also translated by Gary Fouse), Muslims who aren’t busy praying in public are busy preying on unsuspecting citizens at night in downtown Turin:

Turin: They robbed and filmed themselves on social media: Egyptian gang busted

19 March 2026

They attacked victims on the street to snatch their gold necklaces and filmed themselves, then posted it on social media, including TikTok.

Torino, March 19 — This is what has emerged from an investigation by the National Police, which has led to the arrests of four persons deemed responsible for a series of violent robberies in Turin. The precautionary measures carried out by the Mobile Squad, led by Director Davide Corazzini, under the command of the preliminary investigating judge, concern young men of Egyptian origin, accused of various counts, of three episodes, which occurred between the downtown and the nightlife district, in particular, the Sambuy Gardens, and near Valentino Park.

Among them is the presumed leader of the group, already in custody for similar crimes. According to what has been reconstructed by the investigators, the victims were approached and taken by surprise: The robbers acted in a group, using knives and pepper spray to immobilize them and take their necklaces, then running off.

Crucial to the investigation were the video surveillance system, photographic recognition, and checking leads, which led to the reconstruction of who was in the gang and the role of the alleged robbers. In the course of the investigation, the use of social networking also emerged, where some of the accused posted content connected to their actions, defiantly exhibiting their “trophies”.

When you lose your genetic best from emigration, and excessive meaningless deaths from 1916 -1945, cultural suicide and ruin comes easily.

They sure put on quite a show for everyone to see. Reminds me somewhat of what Jesus said in Mathew 23.

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.[a] 3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. 4 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.

5 “Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels.[b] 6 And they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the seats of honor in the synagogues.

I’m happy I saw all of these wonderful European places decades ago in their prime. It saddens me that my children never will.

Nothing would encourage many Christians more than to be able to have a Christian celebration in a Muslim-heavy area & then heavily persecute/prosecute the Muslims that complained to the limits of the law.
