The news of the NBA’s potential expansion has grabbed the headlines recently. And should Las Vegas and Seattle be granted their own franchises, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that one current Western Conference team — either Minnesota or Memphis — will be moved to the Eastern Conference.
However, Golden State Warriors sentinel Draymond Green took things further, proposing that the Grizzlies not only move out of the West but also relocate to Nashville, saying that Memphis doesn’t have the amenities necessary to support professional athletes.

Garbage s hole.
What about San Quentin?
It’s probably the first thing I’ve heard out of Green’s mouth that I agree with.
Yes, move them to Nashville so that they can strongarm the local government into building them their OWN arena to play in, as you know the Bridgestone area is “Too old”, “Only good for hockey”, “Doesn’t have enough luxury skyboxes”, etc., etc. And they can raise property taxes to cover it.
I lived in downtown Memphis from 2022 - 2024.
The FedEx Center is a fine venue. That’s about it for Memphis.
Same demographics as Detroit. However it is not a functioning city and isn’t looking to be one in the future. What few places you have to go for dinner, drinks and hotels is surrounded completely by the homeless and blight.
Nashville would be a better place for the team to be sure.
I was asked to come back this Summer for a new position for a “New Start Up” and said nope.
Heading to South Carolina for my next job. Always a new adventure on the horizon.👍😊
An honest black man being honest about black problems or is he?
All I remember about him is that he played for Michigan State.
Nashville is a dumpster fire now.
Exploding property tax rates, traffic nightmares akin to California, and pro sport franchise with insane ticket prices.
Nashville is dying from urban socialism.
So he’s saying that the city with the highest percentage of black occupants of all NBA cities is not suitable for an NBA team. LOL
I’m still wondering why Musk chose Memphis for his XAi data center when he could have located near Oak Ridge (or Huntsville)(?)
It’s still a great place to enjoy music. But hotel prices downtown are scandulous.
Draymond, you can always buy the team and then move it.
Sounds like a recipe for future entrepreneurship, as long as they have "the Right Stuff". I'm in rural NW TN myself, and since losing my 10+ year job to AI, my 100-year-old house has become to AI what Dr. Frankenstein's lab was the re-animation. Fortunately, I was one year past full retirement age when I was turned out. (aka... It played right into my evil plan for world domination.)
