ABC cancels ‘Bachelorette’ season with Taylor Frankie Paul, citing 2023 video [Domestic Violence] [ed]

ABC has scrubbed the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette,” starring Taylor Frankie Paul, three days before its planned premiere, citing a newly released video from 2023 in which she appears to punch, kick and throw chairs at her former partner as her young daughter watched and cried.

Thursday’s cancellation of the already filmed 22nd season of the reality show is unprecedented. While ABC parent company Disney cited the older video, the move comes amid a current domestic violence investigation involving Paul and Dakota Mortensen, father to a son who is the youngest of her three children.

The woman should have never been considered for the show even without the domestic violence accusations. Paul was in an open marriage what led to divorce and a broken home for her legitimate kids. Then she has a bastard with her paramour; the one involved in alleged domestic violence. Somehow this woman who destroyed one marriage,and has a bastard kid should be one a tv show about "courtship" and marriage.

I saw a news item about this wandering through the room, wife was generally watching the NCAA Tournament so it must have been halftime.

My immediate reaction was twofold: “Wow, I wonder what the behind the scenes story is here”, along with “that’s an odd looking woman, not really attractive enough for a show like this.”
