Why is intelligent life so rare in the universe? According to Richard Feynman, the odds are far lower than most people imagine. While the universe is vast, the emergence of complex, intelligent life requires a delicate balance of physical, chemical, and environmental conditions — conditions that are extremely unlikely to align perfectly.

IMO, there is very possibly life on other planets...Just so far away we’ll never see them or they see us...
I blame Unionized government run schools. It's time for school vouchers and tax breaks for homeschoolers and private schoolers.
“the words of Dr. Feynman have not been altered. “
Thanks before the detractors chime in like they did in a previous thread.
Now that they’ve determined there’s no intelligent life on earth, what about elsewhere?
“Why is intelligent life so rare in the universe?”
I’d like to know why intelligent life is so rare on earth.
Well done!
The only thing that ever made sense to me was a Astro physicist who said something along the lines of, “The universe is a big place. We are learning more things about it all the time. And we are finding more things that surprise us, all the time. We need to stop being surprised at stuff that surprises us.”
Are we alone? Locally? probably. Are we alone in the entire universe? Not likely. But getting from here to there, using our current understanding of travel, takes too long and too many resources to happen.
So I am happy, sitting out at night and staring at the stars.
“Now that they’ve determined there’s no intelligent life on earth”
Speak for your self?
Self-conscious? 🙂
“Why Intelligent Life Is Unlikely” among Democrats. :)
The God problem.
YAABFF
Are you kidding? 70% of high school graduates think Matt Damon grew potatoes on Mars.
Thousands of stars in the sky.
Seems unlikely there isn’t other life
I agre with Richard Feynman.
However, to quote someone I forgot: Absence of evidence is no evidence of absence.
Wait... that wasn’t a documentary?
I’ll believe there’s intelligent life in outer space just as soon as someone can discover intelligent life on earth.
My thought exactly. When I read the title I thought it was about our college students.
