The Democrats have been making desperate arguments against voter ID legislation, including claims that it will disenfranchise married women due to their name change. Naturally, they’ve left out the part about Barack Obama launching his political career by using the name change of a married woman in his successful attempt to have all his opponents kicked off the ballot and run unopposed.
The SAVE Act, which has been passed by the House and is heavily supported by the public but is stalled in the Republican Senate, simply “requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote, and requires photo identification to vote, in federal elections.” It does not establish a poll tax, a literacy test, nor pre-19th Amendment restrictions to disenfranchise women.
Yet New York Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer has repeatedly called it Jim Crow 2.0 because in his fevered all-for-the-party mind it “has nothing to do with protecting our elections and everything to do with federalizing voter suppression.”
Democrats, who want to flood elections with illegal aliens because they will vote their way, have also whined that the law will prevent married women from voting because the names on their birth certificates don’t match their married names.
This shows how duplicitous they are: Obama exploited the name difference of at least one married woman to clear his path to the Illinois Senate.
David Freddoso exposed Obama’s nastiness years ago in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, in which he pointed out that the community organizer “won his first election in 1996 by throwing all of his opponents off the ballot on technicalities.”
One of the Obama “tactics for disqualifying them was to challenge signatures on his opponents’ petitions by married women who signed using the wrong name,” he posted Sunday, which happened to be International Women’s Day.
“Beginning on Jan. 2, 1996,” Freddoso writes in his 2008 Journal piece, Obama’s “campaigners began challenging thousands” of qualifying petition signatures that “the other candidates in the race had submitted in order to appear on the ballot. Thus would Mr. Obama win his state Senate seat, months before a single vote was cast.”
The petition challengers reported to Obama “nightly on their progress as they disqualified his opponents’ signatures on various technical grounds — all legitimate from the perspective of law.”
“In the end,” says Freddoso, “Obama disqualified all four opponents — including the incumbent state senator, Alice Palmer, and three minor candidates.”
So Obama began his noxious “public service” career using dirty Chicago Democratic machine politics, going so low as to even disenfranchise females. Today, his party, which is more unscrupulous than ever after having adopted his vile methods and taken on his odious personality, wants to pretend none of it ever happened and strains mightily to cast itself as the principled defender of female voters.
No wonder that only the murderous Islamist regime in Iran scored lower than the Democratic Party in the favorability rating in a recent NBC poll.

The lower the democRAT favorability rating, the more they need to cheat.
Got a fund raising email from John Thune (WinRed). I replied and told him to ignore Mitch, institute a talking filibuster, and get up off his A$$ and pass the Save Act.
I really hate (really hate) how the Republican Senate uses President Trump’s name to fundraise and the slow roll everything in the Trump agenda.
Remember Thune was McConnell’s hand picked successor. Could have been worse and Cornyn was Senate Leader. Thune must be angleling for a post-Senate job on the board of Fox News with Paul Ryan (another congressional A$$)
Nothing disqualifies a Democrat’s vote faster than a recall election. Then somehow the sacred right to vote ain’t so sacred.
There are at least a couple of FReepers who are upset that married women who changed their names will have to get their paperwork in order, and that this is fundamentally unfair because lesbians and leftist women never changed their names.
I say this is hogwash. If you don’t have the documents in your possession, you should start working on that right now.
I presume that my birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, and real ID will easily prove my citizenship when I go to re-register. They are all easily accessible.
They did that in 2000 calling FL fore Gore before the panhandle voting was closed.
He sent that to his campaign’s bank account, recorded a zero dollar deposit and went on with his life. I doubt the bank teller even noticed.
It is very important not to spread these lies the media keeps harping on. They lie. Don’t listen to them.
Current voter rolls will be run through the US Citizenship and Immigration Services database.....it is called the SAVE database. It is for verification of federal benefits purposes and is already used all the time. Basically it tells you if you are a citizen. THE GOVERNMENT KNOWS YOUR WIFE GOT MARRIED. IF YOU GOT DIVORCED AND CHANGED YOUR NAME BACK, UNCLE SAM KNOWS THIS TOO.
The only folks who will be flagged are those WHO ARE NOT CITIZENS. Might there be a few errors......sure, Uncle Sam isn’t perfect.
Now if you have never voted before, and you go to register to vote, you don’t need all this documentation the media is barking about. You fill out an affidavit, and guess what.....your name is going through the database. Unless you are in fact not a citizen, nothing happens. Once you are in, you are in.
The media and the libtards talk about this incorrectly, on purpose. Unfortunately, Republicans suck at messaging.
Sorry for the caps, but my mission is only to educate. My daughter in law is a legal immigrant, so I’ve been pretty diligent about getting the facts correct....then getting them out there.
What should happen is Red State Governors should start using this database to cleanse their rolls. It would be a wide test to see who and how many get flagged. Libtards say illegals voting is rare.......let’s find out.
Thanks for all that info.
There was one FReeper who was arguing with me a few days ago, about how bad it would be for conservative women having to jump through hoops that the lesbians wouldn’t have to.
I didn’t know about the data base, but it makes sense. They know who I am, but I can prove it again and again if need be.
I want to get the non-citizens off the voter rolls. Let’s have free and fair elections, but that means SHOWING ID. I am HAPPY to do this, and I don’t view it as a burden at all.
LOL. Of course they do. They are the experts at supressing the vote. They spent 100 years doing it from 1866 to the early 1960s. The KKK murdering and terroizing blacks who were going to vote (Republican). The Jim Crow laws that Schumer and the other Dems bray about today were put in place by Democrats to suppress blacks from voting Republican. Literacy tests were put in place to stop blacks from voting. There is one party that uses the law to unfairly stay in power - the Democrats. In the old days, they used the law to suppress the vote to stop blacks from voting against them. Today, they use the law to allow illegals to vote for them.
The reason the GOP Senate will not pass the SAVE Act is because the GOPe Senators would lose their elections. They stay in office and become fossils because their elections are fixed so that they always win.
Ever wonder how these scum everyone hates keep winning? Many are quite obviously drooling and needing their adult pampers changed, wheeled in, to keep the treachery going against the people because if they start losing, the GOPe will be dead forever. The torch is always passed to one a little younger groomed to keep it going after the fossils turn to dust.
They cannot have the SAVE Act for the same reason that democrats have against it. Both parties have the same thing going on with their Senate fossils by the way.
True.
