The war with Iran kicked off its second week on Saturday after US and Israeli forces launched attacks that took out Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior Iranian officials.
Now the US is expanding air operations.
During a press conference last Wednesday, War Secretary Pete Hegseth said the B-52s would be among the airpower used “controlling the skies, picking targets,” and bringing “death and destruction from the sky all day long.”
“As President Trump said, more and larger waves are coming. We are just getting started. We are accelerating, not decelerating,” he added.
“Now with complete control of the skies, we will be using 500-pound, 1,000-pound, and 2,000-pound GPS and laser-guided precision gravity bombs, of which we have a nearly unlimited stockpile.”
General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, further told reporters that US forces will now “expand inland, striking progressively deeper into Iranian territory and creating additional freedom of maneuver for US forces.”

Welcome to Carpet Bombing!
Good, we need to destroy all their military capabilities so that Israel can ensure they have NO nuclear capability or material.
My slightly more educated guess (only slightly - I've been to both bases, but it has been 35 years) is the runway at Fairford is slightly longer and the airfield at Mildenhall is much busier.
Iraq Kurds have said no at this time. Iran Kurds said nothing until the bombing ceases.
From the headline it sounds like we’re bombing london.
Just imagine how much stock Lindsay and his varmints in Congress have in munitions. They are drooling over the tons of money coming to their pockets from this. LOL
Lindsay has never been more excited. Man needs a double Depends and some duct tape on that mug of his. Never seen such a damaging arsehole.
May end up being more muzzards in London after this.
Per Wiki, Fairford has the infrastructure in place to support heavy bombers along with historical precedent .
Carpet bombing large complexes of structures is very demoralizing. The victims wouldn’t know where to start rebuilding...or whether it is worth it cause after they build it it can be destroyed again.
Seems that the C17s (RCH-nnn) flights are staging out of MH. Traffic management may be the reason and FF does have a long runway which Buffs need.
Was stationed at Mildenhall some years back. Mildenhall does not have any on base munitions storage area. Lakenheath is about 5 miles away and while it does have a bomb storage area the AF would have to move tons and tons of bombs across open, non-secure British roads.
Nobody is going to create what you call a "representative government" in that part of the world.
It's astonishing that, having fallen for that lie over and over again, that anyone could even say the words.
After I made my post, I guessed that was the reason.
Israel has one.
Like I said, "in that part of the world".
Israel is foreign to the people, ways, and customs of the Levant and the Arab Middle East.
Carpet Bomb the Iranian poor continuously with King James and New American Standard Bibles, with specific aid packages, with historical leaflets from here on out.
Not so sure Israel would approve of KJV or NASB.
With pinpoint accuracy too.
Google: The B-52 Stratofortress can carry up to 70,000 lbs (
) of mixed ordnance. While specifically designed for heavy loads like bombs, it can carry roughly 80 or more
Small Diameter Bombs (SDBs) or similar smaller munitions when utilizing internal rotary launchers and under-wing hardpoints
