Me too. I was there a couple of times when they were caming back from overseas. One time a flight came in when my wife and I where on our way to Stuttgart Germany to visit our son-in-law and daughter and another time to see our Navy daughter off to Bahrain where she flew hellos during one of those many campaigns I have since forgotten its name.

I’ve been there a few times when Honor Flights arrive. It’s cool when you can hear applause and it’s moving your way.

I’ve also been at the WWII Memorial to greet the veterans. Some of them were very emotional, others stone faced with memories, others cheering their parade.

I remember one man in a snappy suit with an OSS lapel pin.

One time there were three young girls dressed like the Andrews sisters greeting the hero’s. Another time Bob Dole was in a wheelchair at the entrance meeting his brothers.
