@SaraGonzalesTX

Mr. President @realDonaldTrump, I am one of your biggest supporters and I am urging you as someone who is in the Texas grassroots: do NOT endorse Cornyn.

It will be one of your biggest mistakes.

The majority of Texas voters voted AGAINST Cornyn last night. We don’t want him!

Wow. I'm seeing some large accounts on Twitter/X trying to stop the rumored endorsement of Sen. Cornyn?

Interesting and I wish them success with their campaign...

Please post some reasoning behind action. I’m not familiar with him. Thank you.

Who has the better chance of beating Beto 2.0 in the General? Thats the question that needs answering.

Really tired of the gaslighting that it will be close so we have to pick a Rino cause he’ll do better.

She’s right though technically and on the number s if you include the third candidate most of them rejected Cornyn the other night

And now, it could play out that he wins the nomination

What a strange situation.

“Who will beat Beto 2.0” asks Hoboto....

If disenfranchised Paxton voters stay home Cornyn might be the LOSER

Has anyone considered this? How is Cornyn a safe bet? He’s not.

Cornyn was ahead by a point and Trump tends to endorse the candidate in the lead. Sad because he could swing it the other way.

Trump has no choice but to do so. It’s clear that he would be a loser, given how even the Christian right abandoned him in this primary.

Nooope, the next SIX years of RinoDeepState ANTI-Trump Cornhole is worse than a DemonRat. TX deserves better and MORE than half the Repubs voted AGAINST the incumbant Jerk! Get rid of Cornhole and we get Mike Lee to head Juduciary and we might get some appointees approved! The RINOs still hate Trump after all he has done for them and the people... chew on that a bit. ymmv

Is gun control/ amnesty/ Islam-enabler RINO Cornyn working hard NOW for the SAVE Act? NO he is not. My family will continue to vote for Paxton even if the president makes another goofy endorsement.

I watched a very similar scenario unfold in my own congressional district in 2018. Incumbent “RINO” retired in the face of a strong primary challenge. The GOP primary battle pitched another “RINO” against a young, aggressive MAGA type.

I warned anyone who would listen that the MAGA guy would never win in the general election. He was a great candidate with passionate support, but I knew his message was never going to resonate in a wealthy suburban district that was dominated by industries like investment banking and pharmaceuticals.

A couple of Freepers in the same district called me a “RINO” and celebrated the MAGA candidate’s primary win.

The guy lost in a landslide in the general election.

That district — which had been represented by a Republican for something like 150+ consecutive years — has been solid Democrat ever since.

Those Freepers haven’t said much since then.

Wow that’s interesting and confirms what im saying. Cornyn the safe bet? Could turn out to be a disaster.

Just because he has sailed to re-election as an incumbent does not mean it will happen again.

He would be in for a tough fight and he’s elderly. General voters might opt for that Dem (arggh).

Of course there’s always the excuses why a candidate lost;

Voter fraud
Election fraud
Low turnout

Texas has a pretty good voter ID law. So the results from Tuesday’s primary can be trusted.

Paxton is a train wreck ethically. But as posted earlier, voters can overlook his transgressions if he holds the right views. Just the way it is.

To be sure, Cornyn will vote against Trump every chance that he gets if he is not endorsed by Trump.

Save America Act, Impeachment...etc.

IMO in the end endorsements mean bupkis (except to the low-browed uniformed which sadly is a majority of our voters). I don’t care what anybody else things about anybody I choose to vote for.

It is so stupid when you have a political figure in state X endorse a candidate in state Y. Same way with contributions from a resident of another state to a candidate in another.

I will repeat, the best thing we could do for our republic (yes, we are not a democracy) is repeal the 17 amendment and give the states their voices back.

The fact that the Rinos spent 10 times the money on Cornyn tells me all I need to know. They want him and are trying to sell the idea that anyone like Paxton will lose, therefore, you must vote FOR Cornyn. I have heard this song so many times. Just vote your damn conscience and don’t worry about what someone else wants you to do.

If Trump endorse anyone it better be Paxton. I would never vote for Rino John. It time to show Trump American First is not a Rino.

As of yesterday, Hunt had not endorsed either of the two candidates advancing to the runoff:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/texas-gop-rep-wesley-hunt-120747664.html?fr=yhssrp_catchall

As Hunt expresses a desire for a political comeback, I suspect he will endorse whomever Trump endorses. I also think Trump would like this run-off to go away.

I do believe that Wes Huntley’s votes would tend toward Paxton, and Wes had more that 10% of the vote. I voted for Paxton. To note: Paxton was the only candidate you had to scroll down to see. Because I was determined to vote for him I did realize I had to scroll down.
