I wish the NC primary was later in the season. Brown has been gaining momentum in the GOP Senate primary, albeit incrementally, but now he’s out of time.

Whatley is going to be an atrocious candidate. Just as bad (though for different reasons) as Mark Robinson. Republicans are counting on +1 House seat (Don Davis) in North Carolina thanks to the recent redistricting. But even that is far from certain and numerous GOP-held House seats in N.C. are borderline marginal and the Rats are making a serious effort in — at a miuimum — districts 9, 11 and 13.

The GOP can’t afford a major drag at the top of the ticket in the Tarheel State.

Sick to death of Cornhole’s hatchet jobs on the rest of the field. That tells me his polls must tell him he’s in real trouble.

Speaking of elections, today the U.S. Supreme Court intervened in New York’s ongoing redistricting disputes, blocking a lower state court ruling that would have redrawn the state’s only GOP-held congressional district in New York City. This decision ensures that the existing map, which includes Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn (District 11), will remain in place for the 2026 midterm elections.

One would daresay that most of Texas, that is to say real Texas, is probably sick of him. It will be fun to watch the returns tomorrow night.

Also there are informed observers saying to not rule Jasmine out in her primary against Talarico (sp?), not just yet...

That would be most enjoyable, if that were to happen for Jasmine and her base voters...

Amen! But I have a sinking feeling that Cornhole will pull it out. Somehow.

“But I have a sinking feeling that Cornhole will pull it out. Somehow.”

Nobody in the Texas GOP Senate primary is pulling anything out tomorrow.

Get ready for a runoff campaign which lasts nearly 3 months, while the Democrat nominee (whichever stooge it turns out to be) gets a 3-month head start on the general election campaign. It won’t matter that the Democrat won’t even know who the Republican nominee will be, Democrat hatred of Republicans is universal (and often effective). Hopefully not so effective in Texas, though.

I agree. Cornyn's ads have been detestable.

At the beginning of the season, he was running "Hunting for Hunt" ads, saying that Hunt was MIA in the House because of missing so many votes. Hunt responded by saying his son was born six weeks premature and his wife had health issues from the birth, and he was spending the time in the NICU with his son and at his wife's bedside.

Now, at the end of the primary, Cornyn is running "Washington Wesley" ads, saying that Hunt is an insider who's beholden to lobbyists. So Hunt went from missing to insider in the span of three months.

I sure hope that Steve Toth pulls out a win over Dan Crenshaw tomorrow.

Crenshaw has been running ads calling Toth a liberal, when everyone in the district knows that Toth was one of the most conservative members of the state House of Representatives.

The Montgomery County voters in the district will reject the Crenshaw ads because Toth currently represents them in the state legislature, but the Harris County voters in the district might believe the ads because they don't know Toth.

Good analysis — Toth surely is no liberal and this just shows Crenshaw’s desperation.

I haven’t seen any recent polls but it seems inconceivable that Toth could win outright (50%+) tomorrow. But he can force a runoff, which Crenshaw has never faced since his first run in 2018.

Jameson Ellis got 40% in the 2024 GOP primary vs. Eyepatch McCain, and Ellis’ campaign spending was basically whatever loose change he could find on the sidewalk. Toth is a much more formidable opponent, and hopefully he’s got a good chance there.

With the Democrat Senate primary being so hotly contested, fewer Democrats may be infiltrating Republican primaries in Texas this year. That means conservatives may be able to take down both Tony Gonzales and Dan Crenshaw — and John Cornyn — with mainly just real Republicans voting. :-)

This time, conservative radio host Michael Berry has been hammering Crenshaw relentlessly, almost daily, on his radio show (KTRH AM 740 8:00-11:00 am).

Berry believes that Crenshaw has changed since he first ran, and Berry now believes that it was a mistake to help Crenshaw win. Berry is all-in on Toth this time around.

I believe you are referring to this:

🚨 BREAKING: This person - Lakeshia M. Alston - has filed as a REPUBLICAN for North Carolina State Senate District 22 in the 2026 election

The ONLY Republican running.

They are trying to screw up the primaries.

What a JOKE. pic.twitter.com/2Pu7RVPXAu— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) December 28, 2025

I don't think anyone polls foregone-conclusion races at the state Senate level. Again, this is not a congressional district, it's just a state Senate district. Which in this case is a totally irrelevant race -- neither a REAL Republican nor a fake one has any chance whatsoever of winning in that district.
