There are reports on social media and in the Israeli press that a US Airstrike whacked the new Supreme Leader of Iran within hours of him being named as Khamanei's successor.

Comparing the ayatollahs of Iran to the Democratique party of the United States is a pretty good analogy. Both are closed to critical thinking, they operate with their own internal logic, they deny all error, they lie to protect their beliefs, and both appear to be committed to “Death to America!”
Back in the 1970s when we were on break the sign in the common area read, “If you got them, smoke them.” That sign designated an area where smoking was permitted.
Today that sign should be posted outside very mosque in the country to induce the Moham-madmen to migrate back into the hellhole from which they came and to take their spawn with them.
Not yet!!!
It appears you unintentionally left out their siblings and children.
Yes, of course, the Persians should name their own country - not President Trump. I was just being facetious.
As for 2500 years - I beg to differ. I’m old but not THAT old!
When I was in grade school, all the globes and world maps still showed it as Persia. Iraq was Mesopotamia, Zimbabwe was still Rhodesia, etc.. when I was taught geography in the 1960s.
Officially, Persia became Iran in 1935, but apparently, nobody felt that was reason enough to run out and get a new globe -including the schools.
Rim shot
Reza Shah officially changed the name BACK to Iran, cuz that’s what it was in ancient times.
The name “Iran” is Persian for “land of the Aryans” and has been used internally by the Persians for centuries, much like we call ourselves ‘Americans’.
But, as with “America”, which refers to the USA and any nation in the entire Western Hemisphere, ‘Iran’ is has always been a generalized term that refers to a people and a vast region - not just Persia.
Iran was never the official name of Persia until 1935, and until 1979, the name Persia was still widely used and accepted and remained on maps and other official documents.
I don’t know how old you are, but I was 25 when Persia became Iran - and despite the Shah ‘officially” changing the name in 1935, we all know it was 1979 when Persia became Iran - and we all know what happened in 1979.
So don’t be so sure the Persians won’t prefer to revert back to ‘Persia’ if the Iranian regime is toppled.
